CJ last year, his best year, was 20th in yards per carry. He is ok.. great heart, wonderful attitude, but before last year, injury prone and very average. Last year was his "breakout" year, but still not even a top 10 RB. He is an ok back.. but we could do better.

My issues with him include.. not a threat to "take it to the house." Not a reliable back.. he until last year, was injury prone. Not an every down back. Not even a "we need one yard, just give it to CJ" sort of back. With all that.. he has no particular talent that makes him stand out, at all.

We can absolutely do better. He has had a few good runs, but those are super rare.

I question VJs ability to evaluate a player. As an HC, You can’t be scared

You're preaching to the choir. He should have played him, but I doubt it has anything to do with him not like him personally or something. Some coaches just don't trust a rookie to carry the ball.

The point is, why draft another RB in the top 3 rounds when there's a good chance he won't play that guy either? Anyone we can get after the 2nd round probably won't be better than Henderson, and I don't want to waste a 1st or 2nd round pick on a position we already have some decent talent at when we've got holes elsewhere. We still need an OT even after signing Veldheer since we're not completely sure how healthy he will be, and second, because you need depth there even if he's fine. We have no idea if Butt is the real deal yet, and if he's not, we've got nothing at TE. We would have to look at a QB in the 2nd if we don't take one at #5 I'm assuming and if we do go QB at 5 we better be looking for an OL in the 2nd and probably also in the 3rd. The defense has holes also, so we ought to just sit tight on CJ and let him and Henderson fight it out, or platoon them, either way we won't be much improved there unless we took Barkley or one of the other top RB's, meaning we ignore the more pressing needs higher in the draft.

It would be nice if he had someone to block this time around too.

I tend to agree with all of this, but I’m worried the job is just going to be handed to Booker. CJ >>> Booker.

Montee Ball and Devontae Booker are Elway’s two most notable shots at the position, so it may not be so easy.

VJ is such a ****ing retard. Not playing D. Henderson all last season was inexcusable.

I hate these bull**** excuses. If we had a better line he'd be this. Same **** for Siemian being garbage for 2 years. Not every back in the league gets to play behind a great line. I hate the ifs.
