80+ million vs whatever Tebow made. Hanging on to one playoff win is a crutch. Plenty of garbage QB's have playoff wins. Tebow doesn't even make the playoffs on tiebreakers at 8-8 most years.

A Facebook post from a friend:

"As much of a Vikings fan I am, it would be nice to see Tebow play again and succeed with the Eagles. Only reason people hate him is because of his faith. He doesn't have more to prove gamewise. Haters gonna hate!"

Needless to say, I wrote about 6 paragraphs telling him how myopic he was and how worthless the opinion was.

Tebow is probably more hated than Ray Rice and Aaron Hernandez.

I don't think I've ever seen the mere mention of Aaron Hernandez's name inspire immediate vitriol like I have with Tebow, and Hernandez assassinates people in drive-by shootings for spilling club soda on his jacket.

A lot of people do seem to hate him because of his faith. It's one thing to think he's a bad QB and there's no possibility he could be improved at this point, but the stuff some people say about the guy goes beyond that.

How many of them have playoff wins after taking the reins of a 1-4 team?

I don't hate Timmy. I really like the guy. He just isn't a NFL qb. I wish he would suck it up and play another position.
He would still have his platform to spread the word.

Yes, I acknowledged that, but he seemed to believe he is out of the NFL because of his faith only and completely disregarded Tim's shortcomings as a player in his analysis (or lack of) as to why he is no longer in the NFL.

Probably more than you think. Stan Humphries made the playoffs after 0-4 start.

Stan Humphries was also part of the reason they started 0-4.

Odds

Quote:
Since the current playoff format was adopted, 110 teams have opened the season 1-4. Only five of them made the playoffs with the Packers being the most recent back in 2004. That’s a 4.5 percent success rate. Also, the 2008 Chargers made the playoffs after recovering from a 4-8 hole to win the division at 8-8.

A very under appreciated Rivers win there. Doing Tebows dirty work in week 17.

You must have missed the Tebow fans on here who hoped someone would take a crowbar to Kyle Orton's knee and head so Tebow could become the starter.....or the time they wished John Fox and John Elway would die in a plane crash so Tebow could remain the starter.....or the many derogatory posts after the Broncos signed Manning

10 teams in league history have started 1-4 and made the playoffs (much fewer actually won in the playoffs), but Tebow's was the most impressive. He took over for a team that was a league worst 7-24 in the last 31 games.

Lets see what happens!

The problem with Tebow is that if we project stats on what he did in his 14 regular season starts and the playoff games then he did things that were HOF worthy and things that were scrap heap worthy.

The outright Tebow haters like Errand and others that continuously come up with idiotic claims, to grind an axe that has nothing at all to do with his abilities as a football player. A small secret - Tebow was not the QB that put Broncos in a 1-4 hole to start 2011, the defense was not elite in the losses with Orton as a starter and they were not elite against Lions, NE, BUF and NE - nor on the season as a whole (24th wow)

Tebow's biggest problem is the hordes that cannot separate Tim Tebow the football player from the preacher, bigot, religious nut case, genuine giving caring person, the ignorant science hating home schooled fanatic....

I would love to see him back up Cutler in Chicago, or I could see Kubes turning him into a more powerful higher upside QB than Plummer was for us.

If Brock fails when he gets a chance, we are going to have Tebow calls in the stands.

Nobody inspires idiots and delusionals to share their lack of awareness regarding football more than Tim Tebow. It's not so much that he polarizes people as it is he just emboldens those who shouldn't speak to loudly share their opinions.

He should be collectively, unmentionably adored.

You're not mentioning the Suck for Luck fire sale of Brandon Lloyd. That should tweak the odds somewhat as well.

How exactly does a player (Brandon Lloyd) requesting to be traded = "a Suck for Luck fire sale"?

Trading your leading receiver mid season can't be waived off as a professional courtesy.

I don't dislike Timmy.

I dislike what he brings to the table with the Tebow Taliban. They are the most delusional group of people I've ever heard/met. I could care less if he puts his religious views in my face. It doesn't bother me. I believe in some stories too.

Plain and simple, the guy isn't an NFL quarterback. Don't even give me "he won a playoff game". No, HE didn't. That was a team win. That whole year where they backed in the playoffs at 8-8 was won by the team. If anything, DT should be given more credit for that victory than anyone else. They had blown a huge lead only to scrape by because of DT's speed.
