So, if you're a "sovereign citizen" or in one of the fringe groups affiliated with those RWNJs, Cheetolini has your back.

"Light the whole country on fire" he said, and now he's walking. Sends a great message here folks. Domestic terrorism against the federal government is going to get you a pardon if you get caught. I fully expect some people are going to see this message and do their worst.

Imagine if the people who took over a federal building like that were armed Arabic Americans or black. Hell, Native Americans protested a pipeline and had the dogs sent after them.

The implication was not to the protesters but those in Chicago causing the violence in which the protests were for.

If these Oregon ranchers are entitled as domestic terrorists then are the Chicago gang banger murderers also domestic terrorists?

These guys broke the law. I wouldnít call them terrorists. They burned evasive species on their own land adjacent to federal lands. Some of the fire leaked onto federal lands. They were careless. It would be like if Muslims imploded their own mosque and some of the debris destroyed government property next door. Only these guys didnít actually destroy one cent of government property. They probably improved it. They were convicted on negligence and the potential of damage/injuries/death that can result from arson.

The ranchers also tried to cover up illegal hunting with arson in 2001. They are criminals, but not terrorists. That word is losing its meaning with the way itís thrown around.

Right...

Both were convicted for a 2001 fire that burned more than 100 acres of federal land. While the Hammonds said it was devised to control invasive species, witnesses at their trial testified that it occurred after Steven Hammond and a hunting party illegally slaughtered several deer. The jury was told that Steven Hammond handed out matches and told allies to ďlight up the whole country on fire.Ē

They do have political aims though. They are violently opposed to governmental regulation of public lands.

Awaiting a specific definition.

Best I could find

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitions_of_terrorism

Quote:

There is no universal agreement on the definition of terrorism.[1][2] Various legal systems and government agencies use different definitions. Moreover, governments have been reluctant to formulate an agreed upon and legally binding definition. These difficulties arise from the fact that the term is politically and emotionally charged.[3] In the United States of America, for example, Terrorism is defined in Title 22 Chapter 38 U.S. Code ß 2656f as "premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents."[4] According to Matusitz (2013), terrorism includes the following:[5]

It is the use of violence or threat of violence in the pursuit of political, religious, ideological or social objectives.
It can be committed by governments, non-state actors, or undercover personnel serving on the behalf of their respective governments.
It reaches more than the immediate target victims and is also directed at targets consisting of a larger spectrum of society.
It is both mala prohibita (i.e., crime that is made illegal by legislation) and mala in se (i.e., crime that is inherently immoral or wrong).
The following criteria of violence or threat of violence fall outside of the definition of terrorism:[6][7]

Wartime (including a declared war) or peacetime acts of violence committed by a nation state against another nation state regardless of legality or illegality that are carried out by properly uniformed forces or legal combatants of such nation states.
Reasonable acts of self-defense, such as the use of force to kill, apprehend, or punish criminals who pose a threat to the lives of humans or property.
Legitimate targets in war, such as enemy combatants and strategic infrastructure that are an integral part of the enemy's war effort.
Collateral damage, including the infliction of incidental damage to non-combatant targets during an attack on or attempting to attack legitimate targets in war.
