Smart move IMO. DT has lost a step, and Sutton is ready to take over. Better to get rid of him a year too early than a year too late. If we could get a 3rd back for him, I would consider that a win.

no team is going to give a 3rd for him. we would be VERY lucky to get a 5th.

I don't like it but I suppose it depends what you can get for him. The season is pretty much over, so if you can get a pick, it might be worth it.

It’s been real DT. Thank you for the good years.

Making this move is complicated because if you do it you at least partially acknowledge to your players and your fans that you aren't very confident in the teams chances to contend this season. That said, I think if you can get anything for him, anything at all, you let him move on and plug Sutton in his place immediately.

It's a win/win for DT and the Broncos. Let him finish this season on a contender and then he can choose how his NFL story ends after that.

I’m gonna go ahead and disagree with this. Stats do lie. Eye test does not. I guarantee if there was a poll on this board, that DT would not finish with most votes. I tip my hat to Rod Smith here.

Yes DT was a great WR in his Prime. And physically he was a beast. Rod Smith however was a model of consistency at the position, catching and blocking. And not to mention as a team leader.

DT can’t play in a Fitz roll. He doesn’t have the mentality to do that. If you put him there and don’t throw to him for 2 or 3 qtrs, he’s not going to catch the ball. He’s gonna have to drop 1-2 easy passes before he gains his game day confidence to get going. And when has DT ever proven he was a tough guy to get down and make the tough dirty blocks? He’s never done that. If anything he’ll get himself injured.

DT's played well since the Raider game, but I'm not sure why any team would take on his contract

We would have to keep him next season to get any comp picks? If thats the case take anything and run. If you can only get a 7th, try to tie as many clauses to it as you can to have it move up based on his performance.

DT has no guaranteed money left, so he has value to another team or the Broncos. If someone offers a 3rd or better, they need to consider it. Otherwise, tell DT to restructure at half salary, but guaranteed, or they will trade him to the Cardinals for a 4th.

Cooper (OAK) can be gotten for 1st, Parker (MIA) for a 3rd. So DT most likely might be a 4th.

Not really. They had a big WR that couldn't separate anymore in Dez. They could sign him off the street. DT will be lucky to fetch a 6th round pick.

this is not a surprise to anyone that really follows the team. it is a good move for both to part ways. heard NO might be interested. would prolong DT's career and would pay off for NO, DT as proven play in those big games.

not sure what the total picks NO holds...

Dez is a headache and he was cut because he bossed Prescott around and was continually was a distraction, plus he wouldn’t run routes and he is not the same player he was 5 years ago.

DT is better than Dez right now and can be a great addition to Dallas.

Not for his contract. DT is at 19 mil or something next year so he is about worthless in a trade.
