By the way - anyone who is a regular here should read this article.

It's very pertinent to our situation.

They claim they can go after back fees paid out to the developer, is that even legal?

I see the banner adds are back does this mean we are back in big brother googles graces?

And if so why are my ads porn ads. I never go to those sites so what's the deal?

What would it take from the core OM group money wise to have the site we want without googles interference.

No. If you see an ad, it's because you've got spyware in your system that recognizes that there is an ad space there, and is displaying the ad.

I'm in the process of another sweep through our archives, but as you can imagine, it's not an exact science, and hard to ensure that I've gotten everything. I'm hoping we can get this nail down soon.

This site costs about $200 - $250 each month to cover server costs at the current traffic levels. This is a variable cost as it's a cloud service that scales as more server power is needed.

We're going to be ok in the long run. It's just a headache for me that has been difficult to deal with due to Google's impersonal nature.

If we had a hundred posters that could commit to $25.00 a year that would cover it without google right?

Thanks for maintaining this site. As a longtime lurker I get great joy and entertainment here. This is a great source of insider information for orange blooded fans outside the Rocky mountain area.

Correct me if I'm wrong here as I'm not sure how exactly this all works.

In order to get ads you have to clear certain criteria for Google? The ads pay for this website? In the article is seems it's like the guy is trying or has created an app to put in the Google Play Store. What does google have to do with getting ads on this website? I guess I'm a little confused as to how all this works out.

For those that are wondering, I am still working on getting straight with Google. I've got one final move to make to try and get the archives "clean" enough to pass their muster so that we can get those sweet, sweet ad dollars running in again. But until then, we need the help of the community here to keep us running through the end of the season.

So with that, I'll pass the virtual hat for anybody who feels compelled to chip in and help out.

You figure you spend $10 bucks on a movie ticket and get a couple of hours of entertainment - here you spend nothing, and get year round entertainment. That's worth a few bones to feed the server, right?

Well, if you think so, here is the Paypal button...

Select any amount you see fit to kick in, and let 'er rip. We definitely appreciate the support.
I feel your pain, my ads aren't paying as much as they used to, so I'm covering most costs out of picket. Good luck with Google. I threw in something to help out as well.

I've been around ten years now, figure $10 bucks is more than fair. Best $10 I ever spent.

The best $2 I ever spent was when the McChicken and Double Cheeseburger were still on the dollar menu, and I said piss off to the top bun on one and the bottom bun on the other and made a McOrgasm in my mouth.

Wow I didn't realize OP was back in October. I never really look at the stickies. Maybe a PM to the top 100 posters or something like that would be more effective. I'd gladly commit $10 or so a month to keep this thing going.
