Default Vance Joseph thinks the Broncos are "REALLY CLOSE"

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-really-close/

Probably due to all the great practicing he has witnessed.

“I won’t talk to Kirk because he is under contract,” Joseph said. “We can’t talk to those guys. But speaking to any free agent that can help our football team, this is a good place to play football. We have a great fan base. I think our football team is really close. Like most football teams after you don’t have a year that you want to have, you have to go back and you have to do a self-evaluation. Every team has issues, every team has holes. Our goal this offseason is to fix our holes. Because, I think we’re really close as a football team.”

Poor guy doesn't realize that the major hole this team is facing is HIMSELF.

And what the hell are the Broncos close to? 6 wins?

If you fix the OL and QB position we can win the division. Now, anything above that requires one Saints level draft.

Kirk and a FA T like Waddle/Hubbard/Fleming and a FA TE would probably put us back into contention again.

If we have to go with a rookie/bridge guy, then probably similar year to last year but maybe more competitive.

If we 'fix' the OL and QB, we're still behind the Chiefs and probably the Raiders going into this year.

Mahomes is a brand new starter with questionable depth at WR. Raiders have way too much going on with a brand new coaching staff, Carr is a beast but not sure he can help them fix it quick enough.

Chiefs perhaps but who knows how Mahomes does as year 1 as a starter, most young QB's struggle to some extent.

Raiders no, Chargers would be the team to worry about, thats a very good roster.

Sign Cousins, draft Nelson and trade back into the 1st and grab the next best OL.

Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame
Nelson is a generational guard prospect, widely considered better than fellow Irish alum Zack Martin at the same stage. And heíll bring nastiness.

Give me Kirk, Nate Soldier, and Paul Richardson in FA. Then draft a TE, RB, MLB and a guard with the first 4 picks (in no particular order) and we are back.

I certainly agree with him. They are a "new head coach" close.

VJ is right. Scribe is right. With a good QB, Broncos are back in contention for the AFC West.

If we keep our current roster and add Kirk plus "fix" the oline and add a TE then i think skies the limit. Problem is fixing the oline. We seem to fix the oline every year. Oh and our coaches need to be good and then skies the limit

Get the right QB in there and it minimizes that stink of the OL.

Houstonís Oline is straight dog ****. Didnít matter to Watson. Packers OL before and after Rodgers injury. Wilson handles Seattle worst Ol in the league.
