Lots and lots of reasons he deserves serious consideration ... I posted this a week or two ago in the mid-season awards thread:
I have a mid-season projection, NFL Executive of the Year: ![]() . . . JOHN ELWAY

Would be great to see John get the award, he's done an amazing job since getting here. The guy truly is the greatest Bronco there'll ever be.
![]() As for Manning, I suspect he'll have a go at coaching after he finishes. Could see him taking a couple of years away from the game when he retires then returning in a HC role. |

In the weekly game release the Broncos had a great stat. Of 31 players to start a game this season John Elway is responsible for bringing 23 of them to the team...... An amazing stat given the short duration of his tenure.

Yep, was a little taken aback that the number was so high.
Deserves so much credit for the Miller pick as well. I know that with AJ Green and Patrick Peterson sitting there too it was going to be a hard pick to whiff on, but so far it seems that they took the absolute pick of the litter in Von. The safe pick at the time was widely agreed to be Dareus but they trusted their instinct and went with Von. With everyone screaming about how badly Denver needed a DT and Miller being projected as a 3-4 guy it was a risky pick in some regards, but damn has it proved to be the right one. |

I don't think he's a strong candidate - he has to be the overwhelming favorite.
