Guess what those two never made it to FA. Try again.

Um, the better question would be when was the last time an NFL player gave up a few million to stay or sign with a team where they felt going to the Superbowl was a better chance. Yeah, uh, there are several on this team that have already done that. Some players who've already made millions upon millions but want a ring, have this mentality. That's the players Elway wants.

Penny pinching? Only one team in the NFL was even close to what he is about to sign for in Jacksonville. Name one other team that even offered him $10 mil.

Yeah. But is he really in that position? This is probably not his last contract. It's definitely likely to be his last big contract. But the place in your career where you take less for a possible ring is after you've squeezed as much as you can, and you want to put the cherry on top of your career. Depending on how his body holds up, in a few years, he can probably sign to be a leader/role player with a team that's right there.

This is ****ing bull****.

Stop ****ing around over 1m.

We need a proven savage opposite Methwolfe. We're like 40m under the cap.

No duh, that's the entire point. They took the deal for less so they could stay here. Are you really that naive where you don't think if Wolfe and Harris hit FA, they wouldn't have made ALOT more money elsewhere? Of course they would have. Just look at what Jackson got. Don't play stupid here.

I'm not sure we needed to sink that kind of money into a 31 year old DE. But i do think we have a defensive line problem and it was pretty bad last year

DEN shouldn't lose a savage 3-4 DE which is critical to this scheme for 1m measly million when we are way under the cap.

Like I said tho, I'm not shocked. ****ing piece of **** would run his grandma over for a 20, so I'm not shocked he's acting like a fag.

Chris Baker still out there but honestly this defense is so good you just need an average DE like Malik was. Look how good Vance Walker looked and he is very average career 3 - 4 DE. No need to spend a bunch of money on a run stopping DE.

OK. I get the money, but it wasn't THAT much more.
With the difference in taxes, you're talking between 15-20% difference. I'd say that's pretty significant. It would be to me and we're certainly not talking millions with me.

AND we have no idea what the difference in guarantees were. Maybe we tried the Okung method and only really guaranteed one year. We don't know.

It was more like 3 million anyway, according to the final numbers combined with taxes.

That's pure speculation. He doesn't know if his body will hold up, or if he might want to retire. There's just too much guesswork in all of that. He might find himself in that situation, and he might not. It's a risk. He chose money over winning. No biggie. That's a choice he had to make and made it. He'd rather have the money. Most players do. But a few players take into account quality of life, and not just the money part of it. They want their playing careers to produce happiness, winning. I mean, cmon, he went to Jacksonville. He clearly didn't have winning on his mind.

Was way more than $1m. I'm glad they set their limits and don't go over them. He's not worth that kind of jack.

I hope they didn't lose out on Baker because of this, though. Or Brandon Williams.

Yeah. But who plays in the middle if we put all of that into Campbell? Vance Walker? Kyle Peko? A rookie?

I don't think it's the end of the world if we use the money to, say, get Chris Baker, and then put the rest on either a lesser DE, or a better upgrade on the OL.

Chris Baker is signing with Tampa.

We just missed out on the 3-4 END game changers. Unless you think Odrick works.

That's a good point. You really just need a run stuffer in there. No need to pay 14M for that. Campbell does more than run stuff, but the Broncos don't need anything more than that.

Well according to Req, we just lost Baker too, Dom
