Anyone know about the HR54 genie? You need it for the 4K channels(only 3 of them) and they are saying it costs over 400 bucks to buy, then pay a monthly fee.

Direct TV blows.

Seems like the deal every customer gets the first time (maybe similiar deal 2nd time) they call about reducing costs to fit Sunday Ticket in.

Hopefully the cost will still be reasonable this season. I had a few yrs of getting it free, with lower monthly costs on regular bill, as well. Last yr I could only get them to come down to $100 for Sunday Ticket, if I was willing to make one payment vs monthly. (I was)

$100 I am willing to do, but as another poster mentioned, most of the games will be on national TV anyways, so we'll see how high I'm willing to go.

I know I had some "discounts" ending, $5 for this $10 off for that, saw this thread again and decided to call and see if there was anything they could offer as far as discounts. Got my usual discounts again, $5 off this $10 off that...when he asked if there was anything else he could help me with I asked if they have started running any NFL ticket specials yet...he looked and came back and said I already have it for free for the 2016 season, but wanted to know if I wanted to upgrade to MAX for 5 payments of $15.99. I told him not at this time. I then asked him to put in the "notes" of this call that I am getting NFL Sunday Ticket for free so if I get charged I can refer to the June 28th call that said I was getting it for free...he said he put it in the "notes" so I guess I am good again this year

Funny you say that, as I always call every year about this time and usually end up getting it for free, if not close to free with some other various credits to my account. I looked at my last statement and it said 2016 NFL Sunday Ticket $0.00....so I'm guessing maybe they're giving it to me free this season as well. Usually, I'll re-up for a year if they make it worth my while....hope I get it for free without having to make the call. I do it every year, but I don't enjoy the Jewish tango for 30 minutes every year, but it saves me a few hundred bucks, if not more every year.

I think they decided last year to give the ticket away for free, but you pay out the ass for "Max" which means the Redzone channel.

I do enjoy the Redzone channel. I'll call and get that added in if need be.

If Denver isn't on, I'm usually watching the Redzone channel.

Don't do what I did last year and attempt to order the redzone channel over your remote. I went one week without it after a free "trial period" and it told me it was like $49.99... I debated for an hour, then clicked ok on my remote thinking I had ordered it for the whole season.

The following week I asked my wife to put the tv onto the redzone channel for me while I was working in another room. She accepted the $49.99 charge as well. Needless to say, we didn't have redzone after that and there was $100 worth of billing on the directv bill. It got straightened out, but it was so ****ing stupid and such a rip off.

So, I previously was told that the ticket would be FREE for me this year.
Today I got my new statement and the ticket was on it at full price ($44.99 a month for six) .

Called to talk about it and the notes about getting the ticket was stated as "not there" . When I complained I got booted to a Sunday ticket "specialist" who told me that only the specialists have authority to change the package. I explained that I only want Denver games and that at least 8 will be on night games or national feeds so I can't justify paying the price they want.

Dude offered me $5 off a month ( $30) . I told him to stick it and to remove the ticket form the bill. Then I asked him what Can you take off max? and he said $9 a month.

ATT is not going to play ball with us it seems.

I Removed the ticket from my package . I can use my son or brothers login for PC use. and have the pc connected to a tv anyway.
I'll wait until my contract expires and call again mid season. Screw em!

I would try to call back...as someone posted earlier, I believe Sunday Ticket is free with most packages this year, they are charging for MAX only...I changed packages last week and then had to change again Friday (I got rid of STARZ, which my wife watches Outlander who's season finale was on last night) and I again confirmed with who I was talking to that Ticket is free for me this year

I'll wait a while. I won't do the mambo with them until it gets closer to real time. And like I said I can get it via PC anyway. Also have an mbox android tv box...I'll find it somewhere.

Just follow their easy steps and you are all set. The only thing that is the least bit confusing is you must first sign up for and set up UnoTelly, and then follow their steps for getting gamepass Brazil. UnoTelly is less than 5 bucks a month after the free trial.
I have been using unotelly for the past 3-4 years without any issues. I am signed up for nflgamepass for Canada's subscription which will not be getting cut off. I use chromecast which allows me to stream directly to my tv in HD ANY live NATIONALLY TELEVISED games! The NFL has even sent me a renewal subscription notice just a week ago.

With the Season Plus package on NFL Game Pass you will have all of the same features as before AND MORE... access to 250+ LIVE games including preseason, Playoffs and Super Bowl LI, NFL RedZone, 24/7 NFL Network, Archives, access on all of your devices, downloadable games, Coaches Film and condensed games.

I got $45 off for 12 months, free Sunday ticket and a $200 visa gift card when I called two months ago.

I've been with Directv for 8 years and haven't paid for Sunday ticket in 5 years.

Yep, we just got back with direct tv about a month or so ago and this is what they told us. You have to buy the genie, then pay a monthly fee to have it.

What a joke.

Yes you can, the word legally is a gray area. You still have to pay for the NFL subscription which is 129.99 to see every game and red zone. There are no blackouts even if the game is on national tv you can get it. It works I've been doing it for the past 3-4 years without any issues. I use chromecast to stream the feed from my iPad or iPhone to my tv.

Look at the notes down below...you're not getting it free. At least i'm not. Been on the phone with them for almost an hour. I have zero discounts on my bill and they won't budge. I'm being transferred to retention right now. If they won't do better than $9 off Max per month or anything better than giving me a few movie channels i'd never watch at a discounted price i might actually cancel service.

Copied and pasted from my online bill even though up above it shows $0.00:

IMPORTANT RENEWAL NOTICE:
You are all set to enjoy another exciting season of NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX only available on DIRECTV. We will be renewing you at the best renewal price of 6 monthly payments of $59.99 each. Look for the first charge to appear on an upcoming bill. If you wish to cancel to avoid payment, you must do so before the season starts. Refunds not available after the season starts on Sunday, Sept. 11th.

Anyone having any luck getting the ticket for free this year? I've never had a problem with doing the 1 year at a time contracts by calling and saying I'm going to cancel. This year the best they would give me is 10 bucks off a month.

They weren't budging so i was actually pretty close to cancelling. I ended up with $35 off my bill for 12 months and Showtime free for 4 months. They told me to call back in mid August to see if they had any deals. They wouldn't budge or give me anything on Sunday Ticket.

What NFL service are you signed up for? I already have a VPN and can sign in from Canada. I checked NFLgamepass and it is $329 for the season or $99 per month. Are you only paying $129 for the year? I would do that in a heart beat.

they wouldn't give me the deal last year, so I cancelled ST. Any chance I can get back in this year? If it matters, I should be out of contract by now.

If/when I call to see if I can get ST, what is my strategy?

You can buy the steaming NFL ticket by itself from Direct tv without actually having Direct tv. They state that you can only buy it if you can't actually have a direct tv dish at your place of residence, and will check your address...but I'm pretty sure it's all for show. They'd rather have your money for just the NFL ticket than no money at all.

I hoping to use the whole NBC crap as leverage against them. I'll wait a week or so before attempting it, so I can complain about not being able to watch the Olympics. Otherwise, I don't have much leverage as I'm under contract for another year after getting a sh*t ton of free stuff last year at this time, including the ticket.

You should be golden. Out of contract means they'll obviously do more for you than others under contract. Plenty of good advice in this thread. Just call, work your way to retention and don't be afraid to hang up and try again on another day if you don't get the deal you want.

So I have used DirectTV streaming for a few years now - I live in an apartment. When I put in the apartment address it lets me sign up (I don't have a view of the southern sky). When I put in the address of my parents house which is free standing, then I can't get it.

Not sure how they do it - but it probably has to do someone with the fact that you have an apartment/condo number in your address.

The problem with DirectTV streaming is that it is not 100% reliable. Last year they had big problems the first couple weeks of the season which was pretty lame - but then it evened out and was fine afterwards.

Very Odd, I've used it on two homes that I own. Maybe it's our HOA.
