John took over a team coming off it's worst season EVER. Cupboard was bare even before Dumervil skulked away.

How did John do?
  1. 5 straight Division Titles
  2. Signed most coveted FA ever
  3. Year 3: Top 10 All-Time Offense
  4. Year 5: Top 5 All-Time Defense
  5. 2 SBs, one Lombardi Trophy

John Schneider and Elway have had very similar Exec.VP/GM records. Both snagged HOF QBs and have gone 1-1 in Super Bowls. But while Manning is gone, Wilson remains. And Schneider just stripped the roster anyway. But I don't hear nobody up here calling for him to be fired.

No quick fix for a franchise that can't get a sponsor or solve the ownership problem.

Good points. Who is really holding Elway accountable?

My thoughts would be to make changes 1 at a time. You never know if a change here or there is all that is needed. No need to plan on whole sale changes if simply getting a new QB or HC might just be what's needed.

For sure I think it all has to start with the QB. Get Kelly in there and see if there's a spark. Let that play out for 3 weeks or so and then if the losses are still piling up, time to dump the HC, let Musgrave take over short term. I like the running plays Musgrave is calling, he's just not using the run game enough.

I also think after this year if Bolles doesn't improve, it's time to slide him over to RT and draft another LT. Get rid of Marshall and find another good ILB.

The flaw to your plan is, this doesn’t address the 300+ yards through the dirt against our D.

Crowell made record books.

I don't think it's a flaw, get the offense half way decent and the defense won't give up

Trading Harris would probably be a good start. You can probably get a decent draft pick for him now since he's got another year on his deal.

Elway likely isn't going to re-sign him to a huge deal. Harris will be over 30 when his contract is up and Denver has a full-blown rebuild coming soon.

The worst part of this whole situation is watching Mahomes dismantle defenses, knowing that we're going to be dealing with the Chiefs as contenders for years to come.

Not if Kelly pans out.

We have had to deal with Rivers in this division, Carr was good for awhile.

I think reek is the biggest key to that O. Hitting on Hunt helps too.

Reid will find a way to hose it up, he is on what his 8th year there now and has only 1 playoff win?

We are just a QB and an HC away. Once we have a QB who can score points and threaten downfield we won't have to grind up the D every week and pressure them to be all world.

Plus John will have cap space to bring in talent to fix the CB issue.

If we had a decent QB we beat the chefs and hang with the Ravens and Jets on the road, if not beat them. In both road losses we punted at least 7 times, 8 times last week. How is a D supposed to over come being on the field all day?

Ok so this is a tough one for me. Im a huge Elway the player fan but don't know how I sit on Elway the VP fan. All of what you said is true. But how does all this work out if you change just two things.

#1 No Manning

#2 No Phillips .

I get that elway got them to come and play for us. You can also contribute almost all of the above to those two signings.

Out of everyone he has signed , he has really only hit on two.

Not really. If Kelly pans out, then this team is good to go.
If not, what's even more amazing is there is a kid in your own backyard who is playing lights out. I mean he's freakin fantastic. And what's even better is he's taken hose steps to become a next level player in college and it shows. So taking the next step to the pros isn't a worry. Furthermore, he's got a cannon and wheels. Trade up. And get him. That's of course if DEN a doesnt already have the 1st pick.

Having a legitimate franchise quarterback will have that calming effect.

DT's replacement is already on the team, and you have Hamilton/Patrick as cheap depth. As much as fans love him, he's probably out after this year.

Wolfe doesnt make the impact plays for his contract, same with Marshall and Stewart both who have replacements in sight in Jewell and Cravens/Parks.

Regarding head coach, not sure what options are out there, but if VJ is out, i think Elway will look to a different route after missing on VJ.

QB wise, they need to see what they have in Chad Kelly before possibly drafting one.

It will be a very interesting offseason.

I’m told Denver is not they high on Chad Kelly
We’ll see how the QB situation plays out.
Favoring Keenum doesn’t really say much about the evaluations of QBs anyways

Cool, based on their previous QB evaluations that means he's the man!

They may not be high on him, but whats the use of trying to see if he could be good?

Any word on why Elway was at the WASH ORE game today? Obviously he was watching players, but was he also taking a look at WASH HC Chris Petersen?

I would not fire VJ until after the last game. Then I’d gut it.

I wish. He was probably just gawking over the broke-dick 6’6” spread offense qb

whats amazing too is Petersen had the game won and his limp dick kicker misses a chip shot to win the game. And he had 3 free kicks at it.
I'm really hoping Elway met with Petersen.
