oh apparently nick left part of the quote out.

Still, according to Wolfe, he wouldn't go back and change his decision.

Let this be a lesson, take what you can, when you can. Unless you've got 30 year old Tom Brady/Peyton/Rodgers, odds are the team is not going to be successful long term.

He may be done, and it might not be his choice.

I love Wolfe, one of my favorite players. But his body may not be able to take much more abuse.

"Thatís why I took that haircut. A huge haircut, because I wanted to stay here and be a part of the best defense to play it. I didnít know that [former Broncos DC] Wade [Phillips] was going to end up leaving. I thought I was going to have Wade for a while. Nothing against Joe Woods, I was just really comfortable with where I was at. Then everything changed.Ē
That, my friends, is what you call an indictment.

Elway has done a lot for Denver but I keep thinking letting Wade go is his biggest mistake. I feel people where jealous Wade got too much credit for the SB win. I think it is clear now there is a big difference between having good players vs. having good players and a coach who knows how to use those players.

Denverís front-office czar has made three colossal mistakes since Super Bowl 50 (more can be argued but..) that have set this team back by a couple years. To wit:

Choosing to draft Paxton Lynch in round one in 2016.
Letting Wade Phillips depart due to money in 2017.
Hiring Vance Joseph as head coach in 2017.

The bottom line is that after his unit served as the tip of the spear that brought home Super Bowl 50, Phillips wanted to be the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the NFL. Elway didnít want to pony up and the L.A. Rams were willing. End of story.

If Wolfe is talking about it, it likely stuck in the craw of every defensive player the Broncos had at the time who are still with the team. Since Phillipsí departure, weíve seen the Broncos defense decline in every substantive way possible, so Wolfe has a point.

I often wonder if this D would've been better paying Malik rather than Wolfe. Not saying it would've been, but...

admit the mistake and trade for Wade. It would be the 1st trade for a coordinator in NFL history.

You don't need to. They offered the deal to Malik first and he turned it down.

He has another year on his contract. We can save $8.5M by cutting him.

I don't blame him if he wants out though, these coaches are trash.

Its like 2016 never happened on the Mane. Wade was getting out coached all season with a lot better talent than what we have now. Kansas City and Andy Reid clowned Wade in both meetings a lot worse than Joe Woods and VJ have been this season and that's with Wade going against Checkdown Alex not the Mahomes freak we have had to play this season.

I love Wade and he was great in 2015 but look at Wade's history he drops back into the pack after the first year. Elway did the right thing with Wade after SB50 he offered him an extension on the same terms or a big pay raise and Wade took the raise instead of the extension which meant Wade would leave after his 2 year deal expired.

2016 Denverís D only allowed 2 teams(AtL 23 SD 21) to score over 20 points in the first 9 weeks. VJ and Woods couldnít sniff that kind of results. Then the last half the Broncos offense struggled to score more than 10 points in games. That defense did its job

The **** you talking about. 2016s defense kept Denver in games. They carried Siemian to a 9-7 record. That offense was stale.

The excuses for horrendous coaching is hilarious.

Wolfe is having a better year than Malik, is paid much less, and is a MUCH better leader. Napkin would've been talking crap every week. Would've been a nightmare.

Jhabvala is an absolute hack. I'll be so happy when she's out of Denver. She's worse than Dmac.

Seems Wade's defenses are susceptible to getting gashed by the run. And that seems to be the case across multiple teams and years. I'm still grateful for what he did here, and I'm happy he's having fun in LA. But nothing is static in football, including coaches.

And Wolfe's comments dont bug me. He always says whats on his mind. And clearly he has every right to be frustrated.

That football outsider rank is suspect.

Titans defense is beasting all year. They had them at 21 last week. Buffalo the 2nd best defense in the league? I thought defense wins games.
