![]() Simple question. Yes or no. And I'm not asking if you think that Elway will give him an extension. I'm asking to you think he has earned one.
For me, Its pretty simple. I have been bullish on Brock this since his draft. Once upon a time in my starry-eyed youth I thought he might have had the ceiling of a poor man's Ben Roethlisberger. These days, I'm thinking the cosmos will need to align for him to achieve the level of Jake Plummer. But this team could totally win with circa 2003-2005 Jake Pummer at the helm. Assuming our defense only takes a small step back, comparable to the 2014 Seahawks from their 2013 squad, and the offensive line doesn't start a pair of third stringers playing out of position as our book-ends, a Jake Plummer level Quarterback could definitely take this team back to the Superbowl in 2016. An honestly, I think we need to give up this notion that a QB is going to be readily available in free agency or the draft that will be able to come in and provide an upgrade over Brock. Lets run through the list of Free Agents: Sam Brandford not an upgrade, even before he inevitably goes on IR. Matt Cassel not an upgrade Jimmy Clausen not an upgrade Kellen Clemens not an upgrade Kirk Cousins possibly an upgrade but Washington won't let him walk Chase Daniels not an upgrade Ryan Fitzpatrick could possibly be an upgrade until her remembers he is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Generally happens by week 9 of every year. Matt Flynn not an upgrade Bruce Gradkowski not an upgrade Matt Hasselbeck not an upgrade Chad Henne not an upgrade Tarvais Jackson not an upgrade Josh Jonson not an upgrade Thad Lewis not an upgrade Ryan Lindley may have just thrown up in my mouth Luke McCown already is a cell phone salesman Matt Moore not an upgrade Dan Orlovsky not an upgrade Matt Schaub yeah his last stint with Kubiak ended swimmingly Scott Tolzien not an upgrade Mike Vick ......I genuinely surprised me to find out he was still in the league Joe Webb not an upgrade Brandon Weeden not an upgrade Charlie Whitehurst not an upgrade T.J. Yates not an upgrade There just isn't a QB out there who is going to come in and upgrade the position for 2016. I think the best option is to roll with Brock while drafting a guy in the later rounds to develop. |

![]() Brock is the best option, fits Kubiak's offense but Elway isnt gonna give him 15+ a year.
He has not proven that. Elway will offer a prove it/2 year, 24 mil or so deal. And Brock can get franchise money if he proves he is down the road. |

![]() He's simply the best option. They shouldn't break the bank on him, and hopefully he's not expecting that. But that could cause a problem because some other team might decide to throw more money at him.

![]() He earned enough to have an opportunity to compete for the starting qb job next season If his price is right.. I don't think elway is gonna sell the farm to keep him around.

![]() For a guy in his first starts, I don't know what more you'd want to see. Imagine what an offseason of starter reps could do.
Even in the games we lost, Brock made big-time throws when it mattered most... even if both were dropped by Vernon Davis. |

![]() Brock was going to be a Super Bowl winning qb if his team never let him down. (Although with this defense, even you and I could have won the Super Bowl).
Of course he's earned a new contract, definitely if its in the 2 yr 24 mill range. Last edited by SVine; 02-13-2016 at 10:15 AM.. |

![]() When Brock throws the ball, i always feel that the Defensive line man will bat the ball.
He needs to adjust his throwing motion to be a good QB. He will sign 2 year contract between 8-10 million/year with broncos. |

![]() Pretty much this. The Broncos need to hold their ground. Brock's agent will probably tell him other teams will offer more, and if Brock wants to chase that money, good luck to him. It's in the best interest of the Broncos to have him back on a "prove it" deal, and it's in Brock's best football interests to sign that deal. But if Brock decides chasing the best deal is more important and another team will offer it, Elway should explore other options. But I'm hopeful Brock will find it in his best interests to sign what the Broncos offer. Not all players chase the best deal. Chris Harris Jr., Derek Wolfe, Tom Brady, etc. have all been examples of players who don't put money above everything else and hopefully Brock is in that group.

![]() Brock doesn't seem like the kind of guy that's just in it for the money. He knows this is the best situation for him to succeed.

Peyton will more than likely retire, and if given the choice between taking over a current championship team whose offense you know, vs. going elsewhere and learning a new offense with less talent on both sides of the ball, only a fool would leave this team voluntarily. |

![]() We don't really know any of these guys personally, and aside from what we see in articles and on television it is hard to truly know a person, but Brock gives off a really positive and well grounded vibe. I have a good feeling about him and how he handled everything was masterful. We can all say that it was the only way to handle it, but there have been countless times in pro sports we have seen selfish actions dismantle a team and cause unnecessary controversy. Brock was positive on the sidelines and after a game, starting or being a backup he remained steady.
Obviously personality and liking a guy doesn't say or mean anything about their ability as an athlete. I do think Brock is the best option because I don't see a rookie coming in and doing any better. I think we would have a very restricted and handcuffed offense once again if that were the case. I think Brock with first team reps is going to continue to grow and I think it only helps that the team loves him and he genuinely seems to enjoy playing for this franchise. I don't see how anyone could have expected more over his starts when the offense sputtered all season and his line play was some of the worst in the league. Not to mention the amount of pressure he was under with a win now team. Last edited by BleedinBlue; 02-13-2016 at 11:36 AM.. |

![]() The only QB available that I'd think about taking instead of re-signing Brock is Cousins and zero chance the Redskins let him go.
