Have no idea who this guy is, but he may have just gotten a spot on an NFL roster!

There is someone running a stupid 40 yard time at their pro day every year. To my recollection I can't think of a one who amounted to anything.

An NFL scout at his pro day said that he timed all his 40's in the 4.3 range. It's all hand timed and not exact like the combine. That being said, dude is still fast.

Not to $h!t on your point...but the combine times begin with the hand time and ends with the electronic time.

Holliday:
Star returner for LSU (kind of a big deal school in college football if you didn't know) Star track athlete for LSU, including a semi-finals finish in the 100m dash U.S. Olympic team tryouts. Ran a 4.34 40 laser timed 40 yard dash at the NFL combine. Versus... Random Northern Iowa Dude: Didn't run all-NCAA track. Wasn't a star returner for a D1A powerhouse. Didn't even run at the combine. Ran a 4.19 hand timed 40 on unknown field and wind conditions. Yep, two totally analogous scenarios. |

Everyone thought that Tavon Austin ran 4.25 at first at the combine, and it ended up being 4.34. If this dude actually ran a 4.19 he wouldn't be at the small school he is at. That's what I'm saying. He probably ran around a 4.3, which, like I said is still fast. |

And if he did run a 4.3, WHY didn't he run track or something? Why do his stats poorly support his speed? Why is he at some random Iowa school? It just all seems too weird...

But that's besides the point. We're talking about 1/100 of a second. Lets put it this way. It you had a stop watch and started and had to stop it right on 4.45 seconds. Nobody could do it 5 times in a row. |
