Will the Browns regret passing on Bradley Chubb?

Passing on a premium edge rusheróand a potential game-wrecking combo of Chubb and Myles Garrettówith the fourth pick was a risk by GM John Dorsey, to be sure. But my understanding is that the Browns felt like Denzel Ward actually had higher upside than Chubb did coming out, based on his raw athleticism and the fact that he really only had one year as a full-time starter at Ohio State. Plus, corner was clearly a much bigger need for the team.

I wish I had the derrier of a rat to offer you for my concerns regarding the BROWNS thoughts on football.
My niece ponders selections and scenarios that are apparently,
beyond the BROWNS FRONT OFFICE level of comprehension.

I hope its the biggest mistake Dorsey ever makes as a GM

Once you're past the first few picks, there's a high degree of probability that every team is likely to find that a guy picked below their selection that may wind up better. That's just how it is.

A better question is, will the Bronco coaching staff appropriately utilize this guy's skill set to maximize his value? The experiment with Demarcus Walker at OLB and the way this team tried to force a zone into the man-to-man secondary Philips had operating at peak efficiency is worrisome to me. Chubb is considered a 4-3 DE by some, an OLB by others, but let's hope they're committed to developing the player's talent instead of trying to fit square pegs into round holes again.

Looks like Royce Freeman is all that's left, would figure he gets done eventually and there's no issue with contracts heading to training camp.

“Oh, man, he has all the tools,” Chris Harris said. “He kind of looks like a young Khalil Mack. Big, he’s around 280, around there. He can move, so I see him being all over the field. I think he’ll start. He’s been able to be that big of an impact player in OTAs, so I think he’ll start next year across from Von, for sure.”

Told you guys Chubb's best asset is his arm length. His NC State coach says the same thing.

Everything about him suggests he's the second coming of Demarcus Ware.

Demarcus Ware had 58 tackles, 8 sacks, and 3 FF's as a rookie. That's the bar for Chubb.

I was on the Rosen bandwagon, but if they didnt go QB, Chubb was certainly the one you pass on.

We'll see if it pays off.
