John Boehner Goes Off on Embarrassing Twitter Temper Tantrum Following Keystone XL Veto

The way in which House Speaker John Boehner acted as if this veto is some sort of national travesty is just laughable. His hissy fit on Twitter is...

The lower gas prices of the last few years was an orchestrated attempt to destroy Russia and Iran. It was a replay of the oil card the first Bush administration employed in the 1980s to take down the USSR. The strategy worked the first time, but failed the second time around. Russia survived the US attempt to destroy its economy (as did Iran, barely) and has emerged stronger than ever. Unlike the US, Russia has very little debt --

The rising gas prices signal a failed US drive for global hegemony. The shift should allow Iran and Venezuela to recover their economies.

Lots of Americans have already left...given the horrible outlook here in the belly of the beast. Baja was a case in point. Other notables have followed - such as the cofounder of Apple, and also film maker Scott Ridley. They have relocated to N Zealand.

There will be many more ex pats in the coming days. As the empire crashes.

I for one choose to stay.

Turkey to bring back all its gold stored in US Federal Reserve

Friday April 20, 2018

Ankara: Turkey has decided to bring back all its gold stored in the US Federal Reserve, according to a local media report. In recent years, Turkey repatriated 220 tons of gold from abroad, and 28.7 tons was brought back from the US last year.

This week he [Erdogan] criticized dollar loans and said that international loans should be given in gold instead. "Why do we make all loans in dollars? Let’s use another currency. I suggest that the loans should be made based on gold,” Erdoğan said during a speech at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Istanbul on April 16, according to Hurriyet.

I don't understand it, was paying $1.90 a gal not even a year ago, pre much until Harvey hit. It went up a bit thanks to that but went back down over a few months. Now it's shooting up again, don't think the south east has paid this much for gas in like 6-7 years.

Was this thread bumped because prices are rising from their 10 year lows?

Prices are still lower than they were 2008-2014 except for a brief period in late 2008 when oil crashed with everything else.

You must have just reached driving age within the last 2-3 years. People were paying more for gas 5 years ago.

This thread was bumped because morons blamed Obama for high oil prices. Now that oil prices are rising again shouldn't the same dumb people be blaming Trump?

People like to point at a specific point in 2008 as “low prices under Bush.” It’s misleading even if the President had great influence over prices which he doesn’t.

Is this supposed to be Ridley Scott, the British director and producer of movies like Gladiator and Alien? He and his Costa Rican wife have never lived in the US full time.

maybe back west they were, not out here though. bought my mustang in April 2014, gas prices were definitely under the ~$2.50 they are right now. probably around $2.20. Last two or three years it's hovered around the 2 dollar mark, though like I said often times under 2.

been driving up and down I-95 through virginia and the carolinas at least once every couple months for the last 5 ish years now, gas isn't often this high out here.

This thread was bumped because someone tried to blame Obama for gas prices going up. So since gas prices are shooting up again and very fast Trump should face the same criticism by the same people that blamed Obama.
