A real picture of the future is mankind will be living in scientifically controlled environments and if they step out of the controlled environment they will probably die from a common cold germ.

20 years from now with virtual reality I will able to play Augusta National golf club. I will be able to walk the course, smell the azaleas and play with Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer without getting out of my recliner.

Young kids today donít go outside, their whole world is smart phones and video games.

Honestly, I think thatís a great question and debate or whatís the best mix. Most likely at one point or another most of us will get hit with a health care concern directly or indirectly and since the time frame for that sort of thing can be short Iíd say not bankrupting a family or yourself would be pretty important. Iíd have to put climate next and the rest based on urgency but with a plan to address them all.

Just a thought off the top of my head without a lot of consideration.

You got all that from me quoting one of the proposals of this stupid green deal idea?

Lucky for myself I wonít be looking for a job in retail or whatever fast food restaurant you manage, I think Iíll be fine

I don't think they read the proposal. It's even on the first page.

Priorities change for all families, when my wife and I were young we spent all our weekends camping, hiking or on the ski slopes, so the environment was our top priority. Years later when our kids were born it was education and now at retirement age healthcare is our top priority.

The funny part is even the most dire of prognostications are a walk in the park compared to the very "natural" climate of 10,000 BC.

Which in planetary history was less than a blink of an eye ago. Mankind has a blinding recency bias we don't even pretend to address.

Sounds great. Time to push the troglodytes and greedy bastards out of the way and get moving into the future.

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
Youíll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth saving
Then you better start swimmin' or youíll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'

The sad part is is how much of a confirmation this will serve that the Great Global Warming Panic is really a Trojan horse to sweeping societal upheaval.

These guys scoff at the idea that Climate Change is being used in that way. But then shrug it off when members of their party put it right there in black and white.

There's no climate concessions that can be had with this. It's a declaration of political war. The sooner intelligent Democrats sideline it, the better.

Of course itís war. We have one side who is actively opposing any and all efforts to fight climate change, which is an existential threat at this point. Until right wingers gain a basic understanding of science and acknowledge extreme measures must be taken, any policies aimed at combating climate change are going to have a distinctly leftist flavor. Feel free to start convincing right wingers of their decadesí long stupidity, and maybe the policy propositions will shift more towards the center. Personally I donít care how climate change is stopped. It just needs to be.

What would that have to do with taking care of people who are "unwilling" to work?

So we have an opportunity to do four things if we are smart. - fix our infrastructure, introduce smart green technology/energy generation & distribution, supercharge segment of economy and cyber harden our power gird. We should also have training and tax credits for parts of the country.

Instead DC political leadership will do something stupid.

“Seventy percent of Americans believe in improved and expanded Medicare for All. A very large amount of Americans believe that we need to do something about climate change, and that it is an existential threat to ourselves and to our children. What we really need to realize…is that this is an issue of [an] authoritarian regime versus democracy.” AOC
