If the majority of Americans support AOC's ideas, then that makes YOU the fringe dweller who's out of touch (not that we needed your input re: AOC to ascertain this.)

Do you really believe that the majority supports her ideas?

The danger, as some conservative commentators have highlighted over the last few days, is that once you separate yourself from issues and reason to vote for "disrupters" people start to really disconnect candidates from their platform. It gets to the point where they want to light the fuse just to see what happens.

If anything, we need to return to analysis and reason as an electorate and start wondering "Do we really want to light this fuse? What is it designed to do?"

The real problems are that mainstream media channels continue to align with trump and AOC as that is what has scintillating headlines and drives ratings.

We get further and further down the rabbit hole the further we drift left or right. And actually I donít even consider frump right heís just a new type of a-hole political party unto himself.

They're definitely helping feed that "light the fuse to see what it does" mentality I'm talking about.

We're slowly morphing into an electorate that seems more interested in alternating personality cults. And that game is probably good for ratings. Really bad for the country.

For all the lefty PC /social justice warrior claptrap this bug-eyed skull full of mush may spew on any given day (and she may even believe it), the fact is, one will never understand her, or any Millennial, until they understand one key thing: the currency of the Millennial generation is not money or material goods- though they like having those things. What they really crave is fame. Or, I should say, to be acknowledged by their peers and the larger culture as being significant and relevant. Theirs is the first generation to be able to chronicle their entire lives for all the t world to see, and they do. it is a narcissism that may not be unprecedented, but the way in which it is now expressed and has become ubiquitous sure is.

In AOC's world. she is not at the top of the mountain because she has accomplished anything, or because her ideas are so profound, or even workable. She is at the top because she has mastered the utilization of social media, something she has had since middle school, and it has made her famous. Science shows us that the instant feedback one gets from social media releases dopamine and feels good, which is why so many Millennials have their noses buried in their phones at every spare moment. The continual checking to see if their posts got likes or comments becomes a habitual necessity for a generation addicted to their dopamine injections. For the Millennial, being sensible or deliberative is much less important than going viral. This Is the basis of her idiotic "better to be morally than factually right" statement, as if basing public policy on a demonstrable lie is in any way moral. No matter. Fame is fame, whether it's for doing something monumental or something hideous, or nothing more than simply capturing the public whim with a cat video. It doesn't matter. For them fame is not a means to an end, it is an end in itself. ( See Hogg, David and Gonzalez, Emma. )

Back in the 80s when I lived briefly in Los Angeles, there were a couple of PR guys who wanted to conduct an experiment and see if they could create a celebrity who would be famous for absolutely nothing. So they found a model, a blonde bombshell with about 44DDs, dressed her up nice and started an ad campaign. They started putting billboards up all over LA with her picture and just her name, "Angeline." Next, they started driving her up to red carpet events and getting out in front of the paparazzi who were convinced she must be somebody. She in fact did become famous, landing spots on the Carson show and other late night venues, some minor movie roles, and so on. I only bring this up because it parallels AOC's rise. AOC is a creation of the political machine of New York, someone who 6 months ago was a total nobody and who today is one of the most (according to the entirety of the US media) Important Political Figures Of Our Age. What started out as an experiment in parody has become a blueprint for millennial politics in our age.

Who does the left wing media run to and shove a microphone in front of when they want an anti-GOP response? Who is it being followed 24/7 by a horde of news media? Isn't it AOC, or Omar, or Kamala Harris, or some other leftist moonbat? What this fame serves to do is make the other Democrats, some of whom may actually be a bit more moderate, abandon any rationality and instead try to one up each other on leftist ideas, simply to get any media attention.

It will be an interesting next few years.

That was my thought too not that I think Bronx33ís take about the next generations use of and access to social media is wrong however. Folks of my generation idiotically use it to share what they had for lunch and the 1 millionth cute kitty pic like anyone gives or should give a ****.

The thing with Trump is if he hadnít started with daddy money heíd just be another failed cockroach on the economic landscape. Media then social media is whatís allowed him to unfortunately stay relevant.

She is just as dumb as Trump but gets a pass for being young and naive. Plus she’s much much easier on the eyes.
