Normally id, probably disagree, but this year. Yea I would.

If we did that we would get an extra 13mil to keep Knighton, Franklin as well as make a solid run at a guy like Bulaga, Ducasse, VD, Gresham, cameron or whoever else. We would be able to keep nearly all of our guys and land a few more in FA...

We could then also go after a guy like White (who probably will go before our first first but you never know. We can then still get us a RT/OL (if we didnt in FA) and if we did then we can look at OLB replacement (mckinney) as well as RT/OL with our second first...

The options are pretty endless.

With salary cap payroll set at $143.28 mil, Demaryius Thomas franchise tag will be $12.82 mil. He made $3.275 M in 2014 so a nice raise

They can still work out a deal with him before the season even if he's tagged, right?

Yes. Though I wonder if they want to. If Manning is coming back for another season, perhaps they wanna give it one more go with this core in tact. Once Manning retires, perhaps they alter the look of the team and let DT go.

After he signs it I think they have until July 15th to do a deal

I wonder if him being a McDaniels pick has anything to do with it either?

I'm with you. Some of the same people complaining that Elway is having poor drafts by not re-signing players after their first contracts are up want to ship DT for a gamble. Doesn't make sense. DT is exactly the kind of player you HOPE to find in the draft.

Elway wants to see what the Cowboys give Bryant. Probably Cobb too.

DT is no Dez Bryant. He just doesn't have the fire. He doesn't show up at critical times the way the Greats do.

I would not pay him more than $13.5m per year.

Plus, if you are going to reduce your number of throws by 30%....why over pay for a WR.

exactly. You don't trade DT for two picks you hope might one day be as good as DT.

Not in this draft... (whoever forks over 2 first round picks, most than likely would be a team with a very low 2015 1st and possibly with the projection of a team being in the bottom third for 2016). Say... a team like the Seahags could jump on that offer any day.

He also won't have to sit out a year due to beating his gf/wife either like Dez might.....or doing something else monumentally stupid.

He's pretty good in the playoffs actually. And let's not forget how big a choker his QB is. Hard to have an impact in big games as a WR when your QB habitually sucks in them.

So DT was throwing the ball to himself in the playoff games in which he's been "pretty good"?

He gave us a feeling we haven't felt in years, with the worst QB in history. 204 yards with that lumberjack.

Demaryius Thomas has only one career playoff game where he didn't score a TD. He has 699 career post-season receiving yards in 7 games.

Stats from his 5 playoff appearances with the Broncos

Yeah.. It really sucks having Manning as your QB..

I wait with bated breath for your response.

Again.... we can have a better win % but that is total games. We don't have that many games because he has tanked the games we lost (the ones in the postseason...). What is his wining %/record in the playoffs? 2-3. Your argument fails!

I see three teams on that list with more Super Bowl wins in that time period. If only Super Bowls were won in the regular season. And those passing stats look like something you'd expect from Cutler.
