This class of rookie qbs looks as good as any I can remember you would think at least a couple will flame out but if their trajectory continues this might be compared to the 83 class in a few years.

Maybe. But right now, although still way too early to draw any conclusions, there isn't a strong case that this group is better than 2016 (Goff/Wentz/Prescott) or 2017 (Trubisky/Mahomes/Watson). So talking '83 is getting a little carried away.

Better make that about 10 years, because that class had 3 HOF guys. You think 3 HOF QB's are coming from this class? I don't see that or anything remotely like that yet.

I'm not sure what trajectory you're seeing since we're in the 7th week of the season, but simply because these guys are getting to start doesn't tell me much at this point. The trend with the rules changes is helping them, I realize that, and it might boost all of them, but for me the real test will be what they do next year once teams are looking at more film on them.

Dak Prescott was looking better as a rookie than he looks now.

Just for laughs:

28 Case Keenum
Chad Kelly's talent is so far superior to Keenum it defies all common logic why he is not playing.

Not only is his talent superior, he is exciting to watch. Keenum = zzzzzzzzz.

Too many injuries. Too many quitters. We may also have assistants leading the team at that point.
That's why you start Kelly now when there is hope and guys still are playing hard.

Starting him when the season is totally lost is stupid.

Mayfield's QBR has declined every week since he took over for Tyrod Taylor in Week 3. In that relief appearance, he had a week-best 96.1 QBR. But he followed it up with a 53.1, a 41.0 and a 14.5 in Week 6 against the Chargers.

Cleveland is winning with a talented Defense and a running game. Mayfield has been pretty mediocre.

And yet Keemian's ratings were 95.0 and 91.7 the last two games, so he must be better than Darnold. Ratings don't tell the whole story.

True. But you can make generalizations from them. For example, higher rated QB's are generally better than lower rated QB's. And this becomes more true as the sample size grows.

Yep - I agree. Just wish they would split it into garbage time stats vs. a prevent defense and real stats when the game is still on the line. It would make it a lot easier to justify Keemian's benching with what all of us can see using the eye test.

But Keenum is actually a good example. He's 29th in QB rating, and 29th in QBR. So even though he may not be perfectly ranked, he's ranked low. And a low ranking in both stats is a pretty good indicator that he sucks. And that your eyes don't deceive you.

Get Mayfield and Allen out of the pocket and they self destruct.

I just learned that Phillip Rivers is athletic enough to get out of the pocket.

This QB class isn't going to be that great. Certainly not like this year's class. It will be better in 2020.

It's radio. It makes sense because it's Radio.

He also put von Miller in coverage and Roby as an outside CB. He picks Garcia over McGovern. He sticks with Marshall over Jewel. He doesn't move Boles or give him help when he gets smoked. He calls for 3 back to back passing plays when our running game is killing it.
He doesn't know how to use a radio.

It makes perfect sense....

Chad Kelly? Lol, what, did he have a good preseason game against the 2nd and 3rd string or something? He is more talented than Keenum? Lol, based on what?
Seriously, you got to be kidding.

that.. or he'll throw a few picks and shrug like he's annoyed to be there

Why you dont look in the others threads?
He also played vs the bears(if i remeber corectly) 1st 2 drives. He is a 1st round talent and was rated higher then mahomes at espn science lab.
AND did you see him? He got something.

Yet he was a 7th round pick. If he were regarded that highly he would of went higher. This is a QB desperate league. Someone at ESPN science labs needs a drug test.
Keep dreaming about that. But, as a division rival, I say start him!

No one really, maybe Herbert but if we wanted a QB, this last class was the one to take a QB.

Or just hope Kelly can be that guy.

Kelly's more talented than Keenum, we'll never know until he gets to play in live games shrugs.

If he can be good or not, but he did play pretty well in preseason, lot of NFL people raved about him.
