He will be a free agent in 2019. Steelers could throw another tag on him but it would be in the neighborhood of $25mil. I don't see that happening.

What I do see happening (especially with about 80 million in cap space for 2019) is Bell with the Raiders. Wouldn't shock me at all.

The Steelers are proving right now why RBs can be overrated.

Steelers lose their best RB what happens? They promptly stick in an RB whos been leading the league all year until this week which hes currently 2nd.

Yet another reason why you dont take RBs in the top 5.

Pretty much.which makes the Giants pick the past year so strange considering they passed on the best qb and best edge rusher in the draft for a rb. And udfa Philip Lindsay has more rushing yards than the 2nd overall pick as well.

Browns may take a crack at him, and he'd get to play against Pitt 2 times a year.

They have Chubb - couldn't imagine them also signing Bell.

This is the most idiotic hold out of all time. He should have made 15 million this year. He won't because he wanted more. There is no way he makes back this lost income. Yes perhaps he lasts a year longer in the league. But you don't get 15 million as a RB from year 31 to 32. I just can't understand his thinking.

Chokeland is jettisoning their big contracts. They have no outside money. It's really expensive to move a team. I highly doubt with 5 1st round pick and multiple high picks over 2 years that Gruden wants a prima donna, idiot RB who complains and holds out 2 years into his contracts. Gruden wants cheap, drafted players with 4-5 year rookie deals. They are rebuilding.

14 mil and now he is a year older, puff away from suspension and his value has people wondering if Conner does the same thing how great was he? Hell Williams was a monster in that system too. He will get paid but that wasn't good financial advice.

well the crux of his hold out is that he believes his value as a receiver sets him apart from other backs. and it does. how much that will matter is the question, but there is no doubt that front offices and coaching staffs put a premium on backs that have versatility -- and he has elite versatility.

Until this season, i would say that's a LOCK. With Gruden, who knows. He has very obviously mortgaged this season for the future, and that's actually pretty smart. The Mack trade will go a long way in determining how smart it was in the end, but for now they have a stockpile of draft picks and I would assume a ton of space under the cap going forward.

Coming back to Bell, i just don't know if he's the kind of guy Gruden is comfortable spending big money on.

Yeah, we aren't the team that goes for a Bell.

Vikings, after another year of disappointment and thinking they are just one piece away from a title, I could see that.

The Packers, in search of their first truly dynamic RB in I dont remember how long. Getting a little more desperate every year as Rodgers' window closes.

just off the top of my head..

True.

Bell's demeanor just reeks of "Raider" but you're probably right. Gruden will shy away from that contract. After thinking about it more, I'm not sure Bell wants to sit in the cellar for a year or two as the Raiders mature. In fact I'm not sure any FA would want to do that. I understand "money talks" but the team is a complete mess. Gruden is going to have to be one hell of a salesman to lure any player.

To top it off...they won't have a QB either. I don't see Carr there past this season either. (trade for more draft picks is my guess)

I'll admit I have cooled on the idea now that I think about it more. I really don't see the Raiders being relevant until the season of 2021, and that is only if they "hit" on a majority of the picks they have. (Hmmm...sounds familiar) Two seasons of floundering is tough to take. (Hmmm...sounds familiar)

The game is so different nowadays. Before you'd hammer away with an elite rb which opened up the passing game.

Everybody moves the ball efficiently through the air nowadays. 300 yard games are nothing. How many active QBs are on the all time passing lists? And then you could just rotate rbs out of different spread formations and be fine. As long as they are coached well and follow their blocks.

Those of us that still want a high pick on a rb probably grew up on franchise rbs like Emmitt Smith and Terrell Davis. (or even before that). Adrian Peterson is probably the standard I'd expect out of a 1st round pick. And that's not a necessity anymore either.

But back on topic... if Bell gets big money from the Raiders, I'd laugh. Packers are a solid bet. Not for big dough though.

With Dorsey in Cleveland, this is not the Browns of old. This organization will return to respectability. You can already see signs of it.
