By contrast I get the sense that league-wide (not just us) this year's class is really good. We might be seeing a lot of future stars that have looked promising already.

Yeah maybe the college players are just crap that year. Just because there's a scheduled draft every year doesn't mean there are football players worth drafting.

Seem like 2017 was a lemon all around.

The Saints would certainly disagree with this! As would the Texans, Jaguars, and Rams, perhaps among others.

There's always some good players, and mostly bad ones in every draft, but there are classes that are stronger and weaker than others. Von Miller's was strong. Champ Bailey's was one of the best in a decade. It's more like a cattle show - what's there is there, whether you need it or not. That's why I always say take BPA because just because you need a position, that doesn't mean the choices for that position are any good that year.

why didn't Carlos take out a full page ad in the DPO to thank the city for his time here?

There is more to this story I just wonder if it will ever come out... he's there for one practice and it's a "football move?" I'm guessing he showed up high or drunk or something crazy where they just couldn't keep him and then wouldn't put that on blast they would just say it didn't work out.

I tend to think it was more he showed up and sucked, was out of shape, and hadn't worked on anything.
