I know there's some financial games and stuff too with deferments but still.

I think the low to mid 300s with an opt out only after 5 years is the most I would do since that is the core dynasty time.
I need them to give him a 14 year 500 mil deal just because.

. 5 years? They could give a guy a 100 year contract and it still wouldn't be long enough to include a White Sox dynasty.

I think that's way too much. Id rather pay 10/325 for Machado. I understand they are also trying to get star power to pump up their next TV deal but still that's too much. Also heard Harper wants the Cubs to get close to our offer and he'd go there. Let them get close and give 320 to Machado instead.
Geez I hope not. Mookie will have quite the payday if that's true.

Sandoval and Castillo have been counting for about $34 mil. Mookie can have it once those are off the books and call it a day.

Encarnacion probably gets traded as well. I'm starting to like the Segura trade now. They get a Comp B pick (likely around 70-75 and 800+ signing bonus) in addition to JP Crawford while shedding about 45 million in total salaries (at least so far as they will likely trade Encarnacion and save more).

The Sox just trade for Yonder Alonso who is Manny Machado's brother in law. Maybe that means they will be signing Machado instead of Harper?

And does that mean Abreu would be traded or just be a full-time DH?

There were some indications earlier the Dodgers wanted him....but Abreu is loved in the clubhouse and is a mentor for Moncada and Robert.
