I want him too but I don't think he can, especially with all the other people who will be vying for sacks. We also still have a potentially meh LB core and interior, and one less boss CB to keep things locked down for the rushers.

Strongly doubt it, he is 16.5 sacks away and has only recorded 16 plus sacks once in 7 years in the NFL. Add in the fact he has terrible defensive co-ordination, I'd say he will produce anywhere from 8-14 like he usually does and break the record in 2019 under a new coaching staff. It is possible though.

All very true. At the same time he's the best pass rusher in the league and it just seems like he's due for a 16+ sack season soon.

It's going to be dependent on the offense honestly. If we get any sort of leads this year, that will be where the numbers can be pumped up.

Not to mention this is probably the best collection of pass rushers around him since 2015.

Bingo. Let's go through his seasons.....

2011 - Rookie. 11.5 sacks.

2012 - To your point....Manning enters scene. Offense vastly improved. Miller has 18.5 sacks, and becomes only 2nd player in history to have 30 sacks in first 2 seasons (Lawrence Taylor)

2013 - Off year. Miller misses half the season, 6 games for pot, 1 1/2 for ACL, and was overweight when he did play. Only 5 sacks

2014 - Rebound year....and a new Von. Back to playing weight, AND most importantly....Demarcus Ware enters scence and is a great influence. 14 sacks.

2015, 2016, 2017 - All low double-digit sack seasons with 11, 13.5, and 10, respectively. Dog**** offense for 3 seasons, including SB winning year.....yet Von can still get double-digit sacks despite being constantly double-teamed. Proves just how good he is.

So yes.....if our offense can be somewhat decent again (to 2KBack's point)....and manufacture some leads.....Von's sack count should spike.

Based on history and a lack of confidence in the Offense, I voted no. It’s not a knock on Miller, it’s his teammates on the other side of the ball.

Nah he will get 10 to 12. He gets too much attention from opposing teams.

VJ and Woods arenít smart enough to draw up schemes that allows mass sack amounts. Itíll be spread around with Chubb and Co.

I don't consider Jack Del Rio some sort of scheming genius.

And yet, heís still better which magnified how unimaginative they were. Opposing coaches didnít really even have to ingame adjust(blow outs usually happen that way) and when they did there was no answer/response on VJs side.

The sugar wasnít sugar. Hopefully they threw that sugar out for something more spicy.

nah, the difference is that the offense in 2012 scored 30 points per game. We don't know what the woods defense would look like in that scenario. Del Rio's defenses in Oakland were crap, and our 2017 Defense was significantly superior to our Defense in 2013 under Del Rio.

It will depend on how our untested, Talib-less secondary holds up.

I don't think JDR is better than Woods. The Problem with Woods is that he's not Wade.

Depends on whether Case can breathe any life into the moribund offense. Opponents will be happy to play Foxball against us if they have to so long as we can't overcome a 3 FG deficit

Keep in mind that Von led the league with 84 pressures last year...with a ****ty offense and no help rushing the passer.

The offense in 2015 was among the worst ever. Linked to the best ever broncos defense.

The all out attack was absent in 2017 and QBs just diced a soft zone.

I say no. He gets so much attention--even if Chubb is a monster, teams will let him get a bunch of sacks before they let Von do it.

Von was on pace to easily reach 100 sacks this season, but he only had 2 sacks in his last 8 games.

Fastest to reach 100 sacks
  1. Reggie White: 96 games
  2. DeMarcus Ware: 113 games
  3. Bruce Smith: 115 games

Fastest to reach 80 sacks
  1. Reggie White Ė 70 games
  2. Von Miller Ė 94 games
  3. DeMarcus Ware ó 96 games
  4. Bruce Smith ó 96 games
  5. Leslie OíNeal ó 99 games

Right, and he got a total 11 sacks in 2015, and 10 last season. Offense is more key than the defensive scheme. Some better health along the D-line and another threat as well.

Chubb playing opposite, Ray shooting for a big contract, Walker back at his ideal weight I think opens Von up to not constantly face double and triple coverage. I think he does it.
