Does anyone (Dom?) know to what lower level sections the extended safety netting extends out to? My friend purchased tickets a couple sections over from the 3rd base dugout for a game later this month (I live 5 hours from Denver) and I am hoping that the netting won't prevent some potential foul balls from coming our way.

They extend to the end of each dugout. The entire dugouts are covered now. It kind of sucks for the players’ interaction with the fans. But, since no one down there seems to be paying attention, it’s probably for the best.

I think we are about 2 sections down from the dugout. So it seems we should still have an unimpeded path from the batters box. Going to be interesting to see it in person. Thanks for the reply.

I think it's 121 on the 1st base side and 140 on the 3rd base side. I do the rooftop pass so I rarely go to the lower levels, but I believe that's where the extended net goes. But it's not obstructed at all, you can easily see through it just like if you're behind home plate

Thanks for the information. If you read my message you would have saw that I was not concerned about obstruction, but about the potential of a foul ball coming our way not getting to us. I understand the risks of foul balls toward unsuspecting spectators. But I when I go to games I watch every pitch. I agree about the netting not being an obstruction. I once went to a game years ago and I sat behind home plate and hardly ever noticed the netting.

My bad fam. If you want a foul ball the best option is to sneak onto the field during batting practice. Just dress as Dinger, you'll be fine

I can't believe we just got shut down by Jordan Lyles.

Offence is absolute ****.

We're rotating a bazillion people too because of Desmond's ****ty contract and resigning Gonzalez instead of letting Dahl play all the time.

We started 5 people today who are hitting .229 or worse and Desmond wasn't even one of them!

Think about that **** for a minute.

We also signed Chris Iannetta instead of keeping Lucroy who is doing superb in Oakland, for being in Oakland.

Only 1 hit. Against Jordan ****ing Lyles. Seriously... the ****. Normally, I would say send away anyone who's not producing, but, if you did that, you'd be sending away 1/2 the team.

It's absolutely ridiculous, and its time for some heads to roll.

Start off with Duane Espy.

Oh, and as for Iannetta, I expressed my dismay at the Iannetta signing during the offseason. Iannetta is what he is... a .230 career hitter over 12 previous seasons. Why in the **** did the Rockies think he would improve the team when they signed him?

****ing ass bull****.

Wolters isn't any better, but at least Wolters is young, so there could be a chance that Wolters hasn't peaked.

Yeah, they need to cut bait with a few players. I'd be happy with just benching Cargo (my heart hurts for him, though), and Ian. And if Espy is part of the problem, then Espy's ousting should be part of the solution.

Weren’t they like this last year though? Explosive for 10 games then they’d score 3 runs total in their next five. They aren’t a total **** show but their inconsistency is maddening.

It's never happened for us before.

Maybe it's because our pitching has gotten really good and our hitting is absolute ****? So when we go home the other team gets way more of an advantage out of the altitude over us on offense and when we're away our pitching thrives do to the lack of it.

That's the only thing I can think of.

In order for Jonathan Gray to be a true ace, he needs to be more effective when he doesn't have his best stuff. It seems he is either really good (like lights out good) or he is pretty bad. Not much in between. If Gray could figure out a way to get outs and weasel out of traffic better even without his best stuff, then he will make the leap from being an overall average starter (which he is right now) to a true ace. He has the stuff to be a true ace. But he doesn't know how to manage situations when he doesn't have his best stuff.

And the same thing can be said about 60 other pitchers in the bigs right now and at all times.

Pretty much this. Kyle Freeland has taken the leap Jon Gray should have taken this year.

It would be interesting to know just how much Bud Black's dressing down of Kyle Freeland last season ended up helping him

it's almost like if your entire offensive philosophy is to have 1-8 swing for the fences every pitch you're not going to be consistent at anything, except for losing when it matters. they should just dump the humidor if this is how they want to play

Are the Rockies really paying Brian Shaw $9 million per year?

I can't believe I actually watched this game. Crappy hitting at critical times. Poor pitching at critical times. Yet they are currently in cont e nation for the Division. Why?

Shaw, McGee, and Dunn have all been massive failures... throw in Desmond and resigning Gonzalez as well. The FO has been dog ****.

We currently have a massive platoon in the outfield as well, meaning none of the young studs like Dahl get any real consistent reps for experience. Aranado has a meh first season but he got his time in and then he took off. Same with Gonzalez when we first got him from Oakland. It's ****ing retarded. Meanwhile the LA Dodgers actually let their rooks flourish.

Shaw ****ing sucks. I hate him right now. Bring him in just to hang some pitches right over the middle of the plate. Ridiculous.
