I, admittedly, have not watched Kelly more than his highlights. I wonder if he’s the type of player that looks better when the spotlight is on? Sounds like the young man is doing everything the right way, so far. I am encouraged by the fact that he is taking this chance seriously.

It ain't gonna matter for 2 years anyway. Lynch and Kelly can sit back and learn. If Lynch loses out to Kelly in the preseason look for him to be cut at the end of the year.

As the last few years have shown back up QB sees the field whether it’s by injury or bad play. Keenum is a pretty durable QB, but this will be his first 16 game season starting in his career if he stays healthy throughout.

If something bad happens, give me Kelly over Lynch to come in. Lynch is soft, Kelly is not.

I hope you're correct, but just to pose the obvious question;

How do we actually know that? Maybe "know" is too strong a word, so why do we actually believe that? How would we know if he wasn't?

Is someone babysitting him 24/7?

Would be insane if Kelly turns out to be a good player. Drafted with the very last pick.

Only one who needs a babysitter is Memphis Belle.

I think getting a man who is getting paid above the norm (to warm a bench) to change his entire diet and condition his body during the offseason is a good start. Couple it with no bad press and you've got yourself a model team member.

Actually, that's no start at all. A "model team member"? Are you serious?

Getting in shape is nothing more than any other NFL player is expected to do as part of maintaining a career. The fact that Kelly has lost weight tells me nothing about what he's doing in his private life, nor where his head is at, and the fact that he's had no bad press is meaningless. Are any Denver reporters shadowing him around? No. He isn't being drug tested as far as we know, and from what I can see nobody is really monitoring his mental state of mind. In fact, he seems to have been left entirely out of the collective public mind until now.

My point is...we have no idea what he's doing. Of course, that hasn't stopped legions of morons in here from confidently reporting that Paxton Lynch spends all day playing video games, so perhaps someone will start a similar rumor about Kelly.

I think he has talent, so I hope he proves he's matured, but I'm nowhere near convinced by the fact that he's changed his diet.

Chad Kelly can throw a touchdown pass from Denver to Alamosa in less than 5 seconds.

Chad Kelly is currently living in a big ol’ mansion somewhere, soaking it up in a hot tub with his soul mate.

1- Yeah, I'm pretty serious

2- Yeah, I agree with you. It's part of keeping the job. But like every job, there's a large percentage of people who don't come in on time, who call in, etc. There are a LOT more players on these teams that are out of football shape than you think.

3- If you truly think that it's "meaningless" that he's been able to keep out of trouble while being in the NFL limelight then you're ignorant. He's been given the fame, the cash, and the resources to live a pro party life style. Staying out of the news and out of trouble is huge for someone like Kelly. Whether you agree or not doesn't change that.

4- Constantly monitoring his state of mind? You're a freak dude.

5- He's staying in shape, attending OTA's getting ready for football is what he's doing. Jeez, what more do you need?
