They are the Broncos' Chief Counsel (Rich Slivka) and Pat Bowlen's personal attorney (Mary Kelly). I think Slivka always reported straight to Bowlen -- I've never seen it revealed whether he now reports to Ellis or not. But I would guess that he does.

Rich Slivka has been general counsel for the Broncos for a long time.

Mary Kelly, as far as I know, is just a long-time friend.

thanks for the info. I would hate for Ellis to prolong the transfer of ownership for his own benefit.

Okay so if you had to choose one only:

1) Super Model Giselle Wife
2) Pretty Astute Babe who ran NFL team

I would easily pick the NFL owner. Love of a pretty face can fade quickly. Love of a football team lasts an eternity. Plus, Iíve always wanted to sit in a luxury box.

To be fair, Giselle isn't just a pretty face. She's pretty smart, and she's made at least twice as much money in her career as her husband. Her estimated net worth, independent of her freak of a husband, is something like a half a billion dollars.

But, if my wife owned the Broncos, I would 1) have the greatest sports memorabilia collection in the world; and 2) insist that I be allowed to be the GM. You suckers would be saying, "Man, this is nine straight Lombardi Trophies we've won, since DomCasual has been GM. He's maybe the greatest person that's ever lived, other than maybe Jesus and Bono."

Only the drunk kid could meet approval but he doesn't meet the personal conduct standard I'm guessing.
If the son had stayed out of trouble, he'd probably be running the team now. Seems like he fits the qualifications, and he was being groomed to run the organization.

If my wife owned the Broncos, I'd have the uniforms changed back to the pre-'97 uniforms, and if anybody didn't like it, y'all can kick rocks. And when my wife wasn't looking, I'd finally get some naked Broncos cheerleaders.

What's the difference between Jesus and Bono?

Jesus doesn't think he's Bono.

I'm with Elway and the Trustees on this. Beth is not qualified. Being a wedding planner with a newly obtained Law degree doesn't cut it. She's done nothing of note to indicate she is qualified to ruin an NFL team. Opinion of her close family members doesn't matter, as they would support anyone to keep ownership in the family.

Her actions amount to nothing more than preliminary steps toward litigation, an attempt at a hostile takeover, which is unfortunate imo.

The best thing for the Broncos would be with an NFL championship-driven ownership group, including John Elway and the Manning family (if interested). Give the Bowlen family $2B and move on.

There is not a single Bowlen qualified to run the Denver Broncos, and there never will be.

Freudian much??

I realize Pat set forth certain criteria, and that Elway and Ellis believe her not up to the job, but honestly - how hard is it really to own an NFL franchise?

The football side would be comprehensively managed by professionals, and there'll always be a phalanx of advisors and other experienced professionals for marketing, finance, etc. ... it's not rocket science.

Unless the owner doesn't want it that way.

The letter I posted earlier says Pat was meticulous in his requirements and that he set up the running of the team to precise standards. None of us know what those standards are, we can only speculate, but Beth doesnít meet the standards RIGHT NOW. However, she may be able to in the future.

Iím guessing Pat would rather Ellis oversee the team rather than giving the team to one of the kids just because they are Patís kids. Iím also guessing Pat and his wishes are meticulously filed via a law firm and his children will be throwing $ away be trying to sue the executors of the trust.

In fact, Iím guessing Pat has all these bases covered.

Auto-correct error. I typed "run". Beth Bowlen is not qualified to "run" an NFL team.
