Lucky for you, the stands will still be packed because there is no bandwagon fans in Chicago like there is in LA.

Moncada is the top prospect in all of baseball. He has Joe Morgan-type talent at 2B.

However, he struck out 12 times in 19 at-bats during a September call up, which makes me wonder if the Sox soured on him after that showing even though he was making the jump from Double-A.

They're the clear cut American League favorites. Pitching depth is a huge deal when starters are only going 4-6 IP in the postseason.

Yanks should now gauge the Nats' interest in Tanaka. Hopefully Cashman is on the phone with them now...

When the Dodgers suck, they're still top 5 in attendance (outside of that one year when people boycotted the McCourts). When the Lakers suck they are still at capacity. Kings had very good attendance before they started winning titles. All of the LA teams do well with attendance. Hell, even the Clippers were in the top half of the league when they were a lottery team every season. They are really the only team that saw their attendance change when the team started winning.

You do know that Otani works out with Tanaka in the off-season right?

I'm trying to find a source, but I heard today that Otani is now two years away instead of one. And Tanaka may very well opt out after this year anyway. So if you can sell high on Tanaka now, I think you have to do it.

I haven't read it yet in fine print, but Ken Rosenthal said Monday that Japanese players are subjected to the $5-6 million cap on International signees that are 25 years-and-under, which was agreed upon in the latest CBA.

Thanks balero. I saw that discussed in the comments of a baseball blog but hadn't seen anything official.

I would have been pissed if the White Sox had kept Sale. They are doing the right thing and quiet honestly, they should have started to rebuilt 2 years ago.

Well, except the young guns they currently have but no real 1 and 2 pitcher. The exciting news to talk about is "Will Weaver come back to be our (#5) pitcher?"

Socal, you know damn well that attendance has slipped in South Side of Chicago . First # are WS and 2nd is Average for AL.
2003 1,939,524 2,191,745

2013 1,768,413 2,306,065

2014 1,650,821 2,299,409

2015 1,760,000

2016 1,750,000

Angels attendance for same time?
http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teams/anahatte.shtml

12 straight years of having over 3 million in attendance. Yeah, fake fans coming out for the hell of it.

GTFO! WS below average since 2008. Angels have not been below average since 2001. I guess that is one, long celebration of the World Series victory. Damn bandwagoners in Anaheim! 85 wins in 2015 and 74 wins in 2016 yet still brought in over 3 million of those fake fans.

The bandwagon looks to have moved to the Windy City , South Side .

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said that he has offers on the table to both Aroldis Chapman and Kenley Jansen. Since Cashman has said this publicly, I would suspect he is making it known to try to exert a little leverage over the team's first choice, Chapman. Chapman would not cost the Yankees their first round pick, while Jansen would.

Good scouting reports on the players the White Sox got for Sale that should help cheer up their fans a little bit.

MLB can negotiate it and create an exception. They cannot be so blockhead dumb to keep Otani out when he is a major star and young.

Oh Tanaka is gonna opt out short of injury. But you re-sign him and move on.
Otani can be made exempt if the MLB sees fit.

The Rockies sign IF/OF Ian Desmond to a five-year, $70 million deal to play 1B. The Rockies will forfeit their No. 11 pick in the 2017 amateur draft.

I knew Colorado was going to spend money on a 1B piece, but I am a little stunned they picked Desmond, whose value in his positional versatility and athleticism. His bat plays up at SS and CF, not so much 1B. But nevertheless, it shows the Rockies see a window to win.
