He hasnt been good, I agree. As I said, I think both are terrible. But I was expecting him to show a little better today - which might have been wishful thinking. I think he is more talented Davis and would have liked to see both on the field at the same time.

Then again, after the first busted coverage on 2nd drive from Marshall probably did him in so I have probably answered my own question.

Jewell made the Week 3 PFF Team of the week:

Quote:
LINEBACKER

Josey Jewell, Denver Broncos 91.0

Jewell had an impressive day for the Broncos, proving himself to be more than solid against the run. It was in coverage where he really stood out though, with his impressive day highlighted by a pass breakup while covering tight end Mark Andrews out of the backfield.
McGovern made it for offense:

Quote:
RIGHT GUARD

Connor McGovern, Denver Broncos 88.7

McGovern had one of the blocks of the day yesterday, meeting Ravens safety Anthony Levine at the second level and driving him off the screen. In pass protection, he allowed a single hit on 37 pass-blocking snaps, giving him a pass-blocking efficiency rating of 98.0 on the day.
PFF blah blah blah I know. I like them, deal with it. And I love me some Jewell

PFF likes Jewell. A few months back they listed him as the best college coverage linebacker in the last several years, a fact that went unnoticed in here.

Yep. I posted last week, that he was good in coverage at Iowa (I am an Iowa fan, so I watched him a ton) even having a knack for interceptions. I think the comment here was that he is slow, which sure he isn't speedy but he puts himself in the right places and has football instincts.

Absolute steal.

In our 3-4 we have 2 ILB's on the field.

They seem to like to put Jewel in around the 3rd quarter on early run downs instead of Marshall. Maybe to keep him fresh for pass pro? Not sure.

Jewel has been making plays when in and maybe earning more time. They take him off on 3rd downs though.

It surprised me. I thought he'd be in once and awhile, but he was out there entire series next to Davis. Good job, JJ.

The writing is on the wall, folks:

Game 1. Marshall snap count- 50 87%. Davis 37 65%. Jewel 7 12%.
Game 2. Davis 57 88%. Marshall 52 80%. Jewell 14 22%
Game 3. Davis 52 72%. Jewell 38 53%. Marshall 33 46%

They are taking away from Marshall, not Davis. Its just a matter of time, and Jewell will be starting next to Davis, with Marshall coming in only on special packages.

Marshall and DT are gone at the end of the year. It's only a matter of time.

Yep, buckle up for their narrative on why they were cut too.. the fact they both suck and are washed up will be considered racist

If they get cut, it will be because of an obvious decline in their production and play vs what they make. But 13 games remain. Not like they are going to be cut tomorrow.

Roby gonna be gone too. Broncos can get somebody better at a similar price. With McGovern coming into his own, Paradis is expendable as well if he doesn't ultimately sign a team friendly deal.

Marshall has seen his snap count halved in 2 weeks. You've gotta believe Joe Jones and Keishawn Bierria will start taking a few reps from him soon as well. At least we know Joe Jones isn't scared to tackle. Can't keep Jewell and Jones off the field for a guy who has been MIA.

Marshall was playing like this since week 1 of the preseason.

It's only taken a month and half but finally VJ is starting to pay attention that something might be wrong with Marshall at linebacker.

Marshall getting cut won't raise any eyebrows at this point. DT on the otherhand would be explained away easily as cap vs. value... I think there is still value in DT.
