Then that's not an easy day. That's a busy day. If the day is a slow and easy day, it goes by too slow. If I'm really busy then the day goes by very quickly. I should be pretty busy next week...so, the week will (HOPEFULLY) go by quickly!!

Happy Saturday, Maners!!

Trying to figure out how I got so drunk last night and passed out on my friend's floor off of only one cocktail and two glasses of wine (and one small shot of goldschlager)! Anyone ever have something like that happen? I can hold my liquor better than that. UGH!

That was over almost a 4 hour period of time. Averages to a drink an hour. I've had more than that before. Especially at the tailgates. It was just very wierd.

That seems like such a LONG time! It seems like a VERY long time! When you think about it, 18 years ago we were just coming out of the big hair 80's, leg warmers, Duran Duran and Madonna were the "in", Tiananmen Square, Bush Sr became president, the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the Berlin Wall came down and IBM 486's were the new hit !! Average cost of a house was 120k, you could buy gas for under a $1 and postage stamps were a quarter!!

And, my daughter was born! It's hard to believe that she's 18 today!! I remember the first time I laid eyes on her. The first thing I said was that she had my toes and my fingers. They were a mini copy of mine! It was so incredibly amazing. My life changed forever on that day. I had no clue just how drastic of an impression this little baby would have on my life. And, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's amazing how children will change you as a person. The teach you so many things that you could never learn on your own (now, isn't that an oxymoron)!

At two, she would stand on a milk crate out in front of the house and preach to the cares. She would always remind them that "JESUS LOOOOVES YOU!!" At three she wore these cowboy boots and she refused to take them off. She loved them so much she would sleep in them. I remember first day of kindergarten, her kindergarten graduation in her cute little cap and gown. I remember for her 11th birthday I decided to 'surprise' her with a trip to San Diego. She had no clue we were going until we actually were there. She slept the entire way. We went sea kayaking on that trip. She still talks of it today.

She fell in love with the Denver Broncos at a young age! I think she was mesmerized by Elway at the age of 3! Maybe even before if at all possible. I have to admit that my daughter is the one that led me to love the Broncos! Yup, it's her fault I'm here!

It's so amazing just how quickly they grow up. So many memories yet it seems like just yesterday. It went by entirely too quickly. So many things I'd do differently, yet I really wouldn't. In some ways this day for me is liberation. I guess I'm no longer 'responsible' legally for her actions. But, does parenting really end when your child legally becomes an adult? I really don't think so. You just never stop being a parent. Your parental role just changes and now you can actually be a friend. The real world is a much more difficult parent than I could ever be.

Happy Birthday, Kaitlen!!

I doubt she'll log on here today and read this, but she already knows. I just needed to take my "thought for the day" to another level today in thinking back over 18 years! Remember that you can never get back that time and every minute DOES count.
Happy belated birthday Kaitlen! Hope your day was a wonderful one

Naaa....don't think that was the issue. I was at a private party and my good friend's husband was making/pouring my drinks.

I tell ya, messed up my day today, though. I feel better, but I'm just 'blah' today.

How's everyone else's Saturday?

One week from right now I'll just have landed in Tampa!
