I’d like to get excited about this guy but did with ball booker hillman and others. We need to find a stud soon. Tired of duds!

Does anyone know what the holdup is with Freeman’s contract situation?

He looks like the real deal, I just want to see it. I hate all the hype, I just want him to be productive and better than Booker. I would be happy with 1k in our system this year and a handful of TD's.

Hope Sutton and the other WR I keep hearing about also pan out, we need new blood starting there as well by next year.

Is there a holdup? Here's the info on his contract, so I'm not sure but I think he's signed it...no?

https://overthecap.com/player/royce-freeman/6956

EDIT: I don't see a story saying he's signed it since a week ago, when he apparently hadn't, but then why is the link providing details?

The problem with the rest of the rookie running backs is that they appear to be stuck in timeshares to start the season. But the guy who looks most likely to emerge as a true No. 1 the earliest is the Denver Broncos' Royce Freeman.

Not only did the third-round draft pick look more impressive than veteran Devontae Booker in the preseason opener with four carries for 38 yards (including a 23-yard touchdown), but ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold has continued to stress that, "He's just too big, too fast not to play, and he runs with vision."

Freeman (6 feet, 238 pounds) is going 18th among running backs in ESPN drafts, and Legwold said, "I think the optimism is justified. At minimum he splits carries, and I think he will be the primary back before too long. Now, that might not mean 250 carries, but he's going to get work and already blocks well enough to play on third down and in some of the open formations. And he'll get red zone chances, too."

Two plays back-to-back in the 4th quarter when we needed to move the ball on the ground, gains of 17 and 14 yards...and he was dragging Seahawks 5 yards on these things. Despite the fumble, Freeman looks like the real deal right now.

We haven't seen this combination of power and speed in a good while from our backfield.

Lindsay looked better in my opinion throughout the game, more explosive anyway. Freeman looked solid too though, but he looked as expected in my opinion. He will get you some extra yards on contact when it's blocked up well but he is not overall creative or explosive, just very solid all the way around, CJ Anderson esque really without the constantly getting tripped up. I love our 1, 2 punch with Lindsay and Freeman, and Booker on the bench.

Solid first game by Freeman. His runs were able to eat good time in the 4th.

Lindsay is not an every down back who can carry the load game after game.

Freeman is.

That is true, his small frame probably can't handle the workload of a feature back for the length of an entire season. But he had 2 more touches than Freeman today including a touchdown. Lindsay looks like a guy who can break games open with his talent, while Freeman looks like the guy who can grind them out, rock solid player as I said. It's only week 1 but they look like a nice complimentary duo.

Freeman is a starting RB in this league and has the size and strength to take the pounding. Lindsay is a 10 touch a game complimentary back who’s a threat in space especially. Denver has had multiple 1000+ yard backs with less talent than Freeman has. The last two carries of the game showed what he can do in wearing down defenses. He was dragging multiple defenders hanging on for dear life.

Both are valuable.
