I loved him going for 2. Win the game like men. Or lose trying.

Snyder's legal team will use this as cause for firing. Acting like a man with brass balls, that is.

Any chance Shanny had of keeping his job probably went away on that decision.
I doubt that call has any bearing on if he comes back or not....what does a 3-10 team have to lose by not going for 2? Not that big of a difference between 3-11 and 4-10.....last place is last place.

I didn't mind the chance on the road and the position that the Redskins are in this season. They did improve on their draft pick...starting with the 2nd round.

I still don't get what people are talking about with Cam Newton. Looks mostly the same to me, maybe a little better, but now he's got a good defense helping him out.

In today's radio drama:

-reports that a lot of org people hate shanahan; apparently Kyle gets preferential treatment
-reports that Kyle is actually the head coach, b****es about everything and everyone hates him
-Kyle got an extension after last season paying him $1.5m per year through 2014

Segment did paint shanahans as #nepotism

He's not that different, more of a return to form. His completion % is up a few point, but pass yardage is down. He has matched his pass TDs from rookie, but also has matched his INT totals from last season. There isn't really a significant change in his stats or production. It just looks better because the defense isn't putting the offense in bad spots.

I think anytime you see a guy as highly drafted and as talented at Newton come out and set the world on fire, only to follow it with a 'subpar' season, the general expectation might be that he was a flash in the pan or part of a fad offense or something. To see his play not only level off but improve back to levels from his rookie season gives the impression of improvement in the sense that he did not continue to 'regress' like many other one-year quarterbacks have.

Conversations with several people within the organization have revealed a similar perception of Kyle Shanahan as someone who was empowered and enabled by his father, spending an abundance of time in his father’s office, given a wide swath of power, and rubbing many people — players, fellow coaches and members of football operations — the wrong way. …

“Kyle is the head coach, it’s just that no one knows he is,” said one member of the organization. “He gets whatever he wants. And he has no relationship at all with (quarterback Robert Griffin II). So how could it work?”
