![]() I was listening to NFL Radio on Sirius this morn and heard the following gem. "Why didn't we give it to our future HOF RB on 1st and goal instead of throwing?" This was referring to the Smith INT. I didn't realize that Charles was headed to Canton.

![]() There is some validity in questioning coaching, IMO -- anytime that a team is behind by 2 touchdowns going into the 4th quarter, launching a drive that consumes fully half of the remaining time on the clock can be unwise even if the end result is 7 points. And Reid did this in both games -- and both times, time ran out before the Chiefs were able to score twice. At the time, we were pretty much sitting on the lead, keeping the ball on the ground and taking up as much time as possible (not really trying that hard to score again). For Reid to seemingly make no effort to conserve the clock in either game was actually helping us in our "use up the clock and win" strategy.

But there's still some validity to criticism of Reid's clock management -- if I were a Chefs fan, I'd be thinking he should have shown a bit more urgency in getting down the field to score and saved enough time on the clock to perhaps score again or to have a chance to get the ball back again in the event that the second effort at a scoring drive was unsuccessful. By being so lackadaisical about the time, he put the clock into play as a game-deciding factor. |

![]() I love how kFcSTUDLY kept pointing out how Denver gave up 500+ and 48 points to Dallas only to watch his team give up 1000 total yards and 76 points in 2 games back to back....AT HOME!
