Don't Believe the Stupid Argument: The "Bernie or Bust" Movement is Not Based on Privilege

Quote:
Today, I’d like to address the idea that Bernie Sanders supporters who refuse to vote for Hillary Clinton in the general election are over-privileged a-holes.

Recent online chatter would have you believe that the “Bernie or Bust” movement is populated by those who don’t care about the consequences that might befall poor people, women, and minorities in the event of a massive progressive desertion that hands the presidency to Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.

It'll be fun to see the Bernie or bust movement get tested when Hillary gets the nomination.

That's not a foregone conclusion.

Either der Trumpf or Cruz will get your party's nomination. You must be ecstatic.

80% of the youth vote backs Bernie. That's the death knell of the establishment Dems right there. They can see it for what it is, or ignore it. That's the future.

What they expect is not that Bernie supporters will vote "for" Hillary - she supports no policy that progressives believe in, is opposed to most that they do believe in, and laughs at the rest - it's that we will vote "against" somebody worse, whoever that may be. All I can say is, I prefer to vote "for" somebody I believe in, and will do so in November. If the Democratic Party cannot offer a candidate I can support, that's their problem. Think of it this way, Hillary Clinton basically represents what the Occupy Movement opposed. That illustrates what side of the line the Democratic establishment has chosen for itself.

Better than a stooge like Romney, Kasich, or Jeb!

The only way she doesn't get nominated is if she gets indicted.
