again what the **** is your point with regurgitating what is publicly available information downplaying the event at every chance.

And some places have exceeded 20" like Oriental NC with more to come. Atlantic Beach NC at 30"

I know! I am baffled by the motivation here.

Goldsboro (30 minutes south of us here) has 9+ inches of rain. We've had maybe 3? The bands have really missed us.

That's good. Sounds like it's going to hang around for awhile.

Yeah, the eye is just not moving much, like walking speed - 3mph. Southern NC is just going to get drenched, we're far enough north that it won't be that bad.

Hope to hear from Lost Soul, but I doubt he's going to have power for 2 weeks.

The rain, storm surge and flooding is going to be beast to NC. I am worried about the flooding we are going to get when this thing whips NE.

Insurance companies have an ace up their sleeve to avoid paying for this damage:

I wonder if the Dad was stubborn and told his wife that they aren't leaving. A good guess all these deaths could have been avoided if they left as told to do so? I know one was with a ton of animals, I believe, so it might have been tough for him.

Up to 18 now I believe. When the water drains away thousands of animal carcases will be found.

In-laws, who live half way between Atlantic Beach and New Bern, still have no power. Thankfully they have a boat that was full on 150 gallons of fuel, so they've been siphoning it out for the generator. Water got up to the house, but not in on the bottom floor. However, it blew under the doors in both the 2nd and 3rd floors so they have a little damage there, all in all not bad for where they are.

A friend's family lives in New Bern, on the river there, washed out their entire first floor with at least 4 feet high of water inside. They decided to evacuate last minute, so they're fine, just stuff.

My heart goes out to all these people in the Carolinas, far worse than what happened to me, and my entire life has revolved around the damage from Irma for the last year. Hurricanes absolutely suck. I never watched Weather Channel in my life, now I pay attention daily and if they say there's a "disturbance in the Atlantic", I literally start twitching. These storms are life changing in a bad way.

that really disturbs me, my heart goes out to all the animals that were abandoned, hell i just learned this morning, that halls run area that's between me and Jacksonville,, they have some pig farms and turkey farms there, and apparently over 200 pigs drowned,

i know that's food but it breaks my heart, to see animals die like that

Pigs are great swimmers. If they drowned it's because they were caged.
