Default The Era of Fiscal Conservatism is Dead

"When Republicans, given power, are consistently growing government and adding to the debt, it’s time to stop saying they’re abandoning limited government principles," wrote Philip Klein in the Washington Examiner. "The reality is, they do not actually have any limited government principles. Their priorities are lower taxes and higher military spending, and they are willing to accede to growth in entitlements and other government programs if that is what it takes to secure their first two goals."

A small group of conservatives who were a part of the "Tea Party" wave from the Barack Obama administration were equally dismayed.

"I think the Republican Party has no core," Colorado Rep. Ken Buck told Business Insider. "We stood for something" in 2010.

Politics in general have no core. None of us can really count the time our respective parties have said one thing during campaign season and done exactly the opposite when put in power.

The fact of the matter is, with the attention span of goldfish, politicians know they only need to please you when they're standing in front of you, and you likely won't pay much, or any, attention when they do whatever's most convenient behind your back.

The GOP is way worse than Democrats in the last 30 years... at least the Democrats want to tax and spend, the GOP doesn’t give a sh*t about paying for anything, in fact continue to perpetuate the notion that you can cut taxes, increase spending and run deficits forever...

We’re doomed if the Democrats are the most fiscally responsible nowadays...

PP's been sleepwalking for years...

This has been a problem since Cheney said "deficits no longer matter...."
