How did they not accommodate Lynch? He was in the shotgun more than 50% of the time and he didn't look good. I am sure if he actually showed something from the gun they would have run him out of it 100% of the time. Right now he just isn't a good QB and no amount of accommodation would change that.

I agree, honestly I don't think the style of offense is what will keep Denver from drafting Mayfield. I think what will keep it from happening is his value and our draft position.

1) He's liked, but not liked enough to trade down for when we can get a top 5 player

2) He wont last until our 2nd rounder

3) He's too risky to trade back into the 1st for.

And he won't be there after pick 5...
Love him/hate him, There's already teams in love with his attributes.
No way he falls past 5
Way too many teams need a QB in this league

Yeah I can't really agree with thinking he'll go outside the top 10 at this point, but I guess a lot can happen after the combine.

Haven't seen this posted yet. Good breakdown from PFF.

"But everybody knows that Mayfield’s numbers are a product of a quirky college offense that just relies on screens and manufactured yardage from his receivers, right?

This past season, Mayfield had the eighth-most ‘NFL throw’ attempts in the nation and by far the best grade of any college quarterback on those pass attempts. This is not a player that was simply the product of a gimmick offense putting defenses in ugly situations and benefitting from routine and easy throws every down."

Baker Mayfield had a total of five passes batted down over the past three years starting.

Josh Rosen had 10 batted at the line this year alone.
Huh.

Lol, you're delusional. Mayfield is NOT going in the top 5. Top 10 at the earliest. But he wont go in the top 5. I'd bet a months salary on that

In general I would bet it, because I know it wont happen.

Cecil and Pritch had him on today to talk about his article.

How much would that be? I’m willing to bet he goes top 5 but not a months salary.

I think that people need to read Mike Lewis 's The Undoing Project: A Friendship That Changed Our Minds, when the discuss the QBs. It talks about the bias we have in our minds based on models.

What I'm hearing
"I love him. He's tough and competitive. He can make all of the throws and he has tremendous confidence. I know he's a little undersized but he has big-time game. I think he has the stuff to be a franchise guy." -- AFC personnel executive

"I'm not as high on him as some guys. I love his toughness and leadership. He throws a deep ball with good touch and timing. He's pretty accurate in that offense, but I worry about him working the middle of the field on traditional intermediate routes. Can he find the passing lanes to hit moving targets from the pocket? That's the biggest question that I have on him. If he can't consistently make those throws from the pocket, it's going to be hard for him to succeed as a pro." -- AFC scout

"He is like the Energizer Bunny. He brings a lot of energy and passion to the field. You can sense it when you watch him warm up prior to games. I think his teammates feed off of his swagger and confidence. I think that's important. It might be more important than the physical stuff that he brings to the table. ... Yeah, he can make all of the throws and do all of those things you want to see from a quarterback, but it's the 'it' factor that sets him apart from others in the class. He has the juice that you want to see from your franchise quarterback." -- NFC scout

"I think he's a very good college player, but I'm not convinced that he will light it up as a pro. He has a lot of weapons around him and I think they elevate his play a bit. He's a good player, but I don't know if he's a top-tier guy." -- AFC college scouting director

"He's a good college player, but I'm not ready to proclaim him a franchise guy. He has some talent, but he's not as accurate as a young Drew Brees and he's not nearly as explosive or dynamic as Russell Wilson. ... I think he can be a good player at the next level, but I think scouts and coaches need to know exactly who he is before they bring him in." -- NFC scout
