Isaih Thomas may be be failing his physical with Cleveland due to his hip problem. The deal could potentionally evolve or even unwind.

Could be a way to gather more assets(draft pick/picks)

I would actually laugh if Cleveland firebombed the team and traded away everyone by the all star break for future assets.

Leaving Lebron with a bag of **** for the rest of the season. He's leaving anyway.

If Jackson and Bender can develop and show some glimpses of the potential you(the Suns franchise) believe them to have. That sets you up for a surprising year. No ability to contend but they should see a nice improvement in the wins category.
42 wins would surprise me

They'll probably throw in an extra pick, Thomas back by march

Well for 42 I think they would need Booker to be an all star at a high level of play, Jackson and Bender to break out into legit emerging star level players and Bledsoe to be healthy. The West is tough but with the right development, they could make some noise.

From the deepest part of my soul....I hate this ****er.

Garred, the new Pittsnoggle

Quote:
The Bulls might be moving on from Payne, as well, and a source close to the situation explained Thursday why that might be best for the -organization.

“We knew the second practice [after he was acquired] that he couldn’t play at [an NBA] level,’’ the source said. “The only reason it took two practices was because we thought maybe it was nerves in the first one.

“Any [Bulls] coach who says differently is lying. . . . We got ‘Garred’ on that one.’’

The source was referring to general manager Gar Forman, who sent Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott to the Thunder for a package that supposedly was highlighted by Payne. The front office even called Payne “the point guard of the future.’’

UNI Watch: NBA Makes A, Ahem, Statement

Quote:
Paraphrasing a slogan you often hear in the business, “Bad news drops of a Friday night.”

Well. Depending on your perspective, Nike “dropped” alternate uniforms (the term for which shant be written here, but if you read the hed, you can probably figure it out) last evening for all 30 teams. I’ll save you any commentary and just post the unis below, but Paul will have a full review of these uniforms on Monday. I’ll include links to the teams websites — by the time you read this they should all have links to stories/pics of the new alternate uniforms. Some already contain direct links to the new unis. My apologies on a couple — there were no ‘tweets’ for/from a couple teams (as of midnight), so I had to take a larger photo and iso the team uni. Speaking of which, here’s a large-ish photo of the full unveil.

Mason Plumlee 3 years 41 million?

For a back up center? NBA clearly has the most money for average athletes.

basketball is the dumbest sport on the planet, really. I have no interest in watching a sport where if you scrape somebody with your knuckle hair its a foul.

They can travel, double dribble, and carry. Basketball in the 80s and 90s was FAR better

definitely, the purple sun burst jerseys are the best.

Just PHX? Um no.

http://store.nba.com/Phoenix_Suns_Jerseys

They say "Phoenix" and "Suns" too

But the colors are a little fresh this year

There's never been an NBA draft prospect like Luka Doncic

Quote:
...Doncic now stands 6-8, 228 pounds. He's one day removed from donning a 2017 Eurobasket gold medal, and arguably the most accomplished 18-year-old European prospect of all time.

He's also a legitimate candidate to go No. 1 in the 2018 NBA draft, which no European perimeter player has ever done. ...

I don't know if I would say "bad" but we should have got more in return. Nurkic was a bad fit in Denver in our scheme and isn't an iron man out on the court.

Probably 4 maybe 5 legit prospects for #1 in 2018.
Doncic and Ayton are the most mentioned. Porter, Bagley and Bamba are the others.

I think Bamba is going to explode and end up being in the mix for #1 with Doncic when it's all said and done.

I am curious to see the outcome of the Bulls hiring Doug Collins as the senior adviser for basketball Ops.
Pushes Gar further away from power in the FO, sets up the potential for Paxson to finally step away and it gives a potential new vision for the Bulls franchise.

Hopefully one in which Paxson and Forman have no future in.

Charles Barkley on players: 'Poor babies' can't play back-to-backs

"You know, these poor babies can't play back-to-back games. They're making 20, 30, 40 million dollars a year. But we want to make it convenient for them. ... We can't stress 'em out. So we're just going to make it more comfortable for them. The private jets and four-star hotels is not enough," he said, continuing his sarcastic tone.

I find the NBA veterans' disdain for the younger generation so puzzling.
