Laptop Advice Needed - The Orange Mane

I'm in the market for a new laptop. I have browsed the net and saw lots of different ones. I'm looking at the lighter weight ones or a tablet PC ones. My last one was a Dell Inspiron 8000 series but, I thought this time I wanted a lighter longer battery life laptop. I will use it alot in places without a plug available.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a brand model laptop that you have used and liked. Also curious if anyone tried the Gateway tablet laptop and what you liked and didn't like about it.

Any cons on getting a lighter laptop that I should be aware of before I buy one.
