Default Now what do I do?

I just returned from the doctor’s office. I picked up the prescription that he wrote out for me. I was told that the prescription was one that I’d have to take for the rest of my life. After filling the prescription I called the doctor to re-confirm what he had said about taking the medication for the rest of my life, he re-confirmed the comment.

I thought for a moment and asked just how serious my condition was, the prescription is marked “No Refills”.

thats not a good sign.

Actually I have a prescription that I will prolly take for ever and they still only write the prescritption for 3 refills at a time. I figure they just want me to keep coming back so they can bill my insurance.

Hopefully the prescription is one that does you good. I'd hate to think that a doctor would give anyone a placebo!!

With lots of prescriptions (namely narcotic pain pills and amphetamines), it is illegal to write them with any refills. You just have to pick up a hard copy of a new prescription every month from your doctor's office. They can't even call them in.

No kidding. I started taking something that falls in this category about a year ago, because I all of a sudden was tired all the time. It worked okay, but I stopped taking it because it was such a pain in the butt. Now I just drink a lot of Coke.

I have a few family members that have chronic pain. They really have to jump through hoops to get the medicine they need. I have a brother-in-law that died of a drug overdose from prescribed pain medication, though - so I guess I would rather they be more cautious than less.

My neighbor and good friend also died from taking to much prescribed medicine, so i too know the risks with it. (Was his dad's) Luckily i baptized him the summer before so i dealt with that loss well.
