The last couple of months I have been watching alot of Bob Hope movies and now I have just discovered Abbott and Costello. Man, I cant get enough of these movie. Right Now I am on a 24 Abbott and Costello movie marathon. I plan on buying the other 16 movies when I am finished. Anybody else like these kinds of movies?Do you know of any other great old comedies like these. My dad told me about Jerry Lewis. I have heard of him but I have never seen any of his movies. Any recommendations on his movies?

For some reason I didnt include the three stooges. Its probably because I grew up watching them and never considered them to be old classics. Anyways I have seen all the three stooges and loved this show too.

W.C. Fields.....Do yourself a favor seek out this all time comedy God....any will do, but look first to "The Bank Dick", "It's A Gift", "You Can't Cheat An Honest Man" and "Poppy" before the others. "Never Give A Sucker An Even Break" is not the place to start....It's still servicable and has some great moments in it, but Fields was clearly ill at the time and as a result, forces himself which is kinda painful to watch.

The sad thing is you're right. And you're right about the Three Amigos being a classic comedy movie. I just find comfort in going back even before I was in existence. It makes me feel better... ![]() |

What's weird is that many of these movies just wouldn't be possible as is in today's PC social climate. For instance, I was watching the first two Bad News Bears movies on Cinemax here, a couple of faves from my youth, when it hit me there's no way in hell they could get away with making those movies today without some major changes.....Like the character of Coach Buttermaker would make it past the censors now....yeah right.
