They really enforce the rules too, for example a Spanish group wanted to build a billion dollar mega resort (El Dordo) near the Marine Park and the federal environmental agency would not permit them do to impact on the park. All the people of the area fought a very organized fight to stop the development and inspire of deep pockets of the developers the project was stopped which is amazing for Mexico.

Yes, that is truly amazing for Mexico. The Spanish have pretty much bought up everything in sight over here. I think there's only one big hotel left that isn't Spanish owned. They pay the locals peanuts and rake in the dough.

Lol was at Barcelo last year. So true.

The Palace line is Mexican owned, though, I think. Brothers or something like that.

I remember when you came down. Did you go to a wedding?

They sold the Spa Palace not toolong ago. It's a Hard Rock hotel now.

No, its just a convenient location for us. Instead of wasting a day in travel to a spot like Grenada (which was awesome), we can be on the resort and be settling in over lunch.

i hear the tourist spots are safe just dont go wandering the countryside outside of the city limits stay with the other tourists and if something does happen use the person in front of you as a human shield XD
