I just want to know if he drove home in his Camero and if the Tranny had a mullet.

Alex Smith says KC Chiefs have the playmakers to compete with Broncos, Colts, Patriots

Asked by host Steve Wyche if the Chiefs have the firepower to keep up with the Broncos and Colts of the world, Smith said, "Absolutely, without question."

"I think coaches and personnel guys think the same way," Smith said in the video you can view here. "I think they answered that question when they saw that a lot of the guys that we do have and the talent that's been developed. I think coach [Andy] Reid is as good as there is at developing young talent. I think a lot of people going to be surprised from a lot of the different people that step up and where it's coming from."

A defense that gives up 26 ppg isn't a good recipe for success. KC should be worried about keeping up in the wildcard race because the division is a 2 team race that doesn't involve KC.

kc has a big decision to make. Sign smith to a new long term contract or let him walk. If they franchise him after this coming season they will have to pay him like $18m, all guaranteed, for one season. That's a lot of money for a guy who has no future with the team.

Alex Smith is delusional.

Quote:
Although he claimed that there was "still plenty of time" to reach a deal, Smith also told the Star that he is aware of the recent deals signed by some other quarterbacks around the league.

"Certainly when you're talking about comparables and what the marketplace is for a quarterback, certainly you're looking at that," Smith told the paper. "And I feel like my body of work of the last three, four years is right up there with a lot of those guys. No question, when you're trying to put a value on something like that, you look at a lot of stuff."

I definitely think they'll be worse. They have historically always had a crappier year by at least three games after a good one.

It's a given. Their receiving corp could be the most unimpressive in the league, their o-line is garbage, their D sucks unless they are playing 3rd string qbs making their nfl debut, & they have a mobile version of Kyle Orton at qb...gonna be a long season for the queefs.

Only if the Broncos and Colts start 1st time starting backup QB's. Otherwise kFc has no chance even when spotted a 28 point lead well into the 3rd quarter.

AFC offseason grades. Broncos only team to score an A, chiefs only team to score an F. Oakland I think deserves a little higher than D+

Raiders definitely deserve better. I think they had the 2nd best offseason in the division.

How much do you pay a RB 3 years from 30 who relies on speed?

Charles did sign that contract, so hard to feel too bad for him. On the Chiefs end, he's under contract for two more years. He's very valuable to their team, so I'd give a slight bump in salary if I were KC.

Like what?

2 years, 24 million and add the other 2 years on top of that and re-do it?

I don't think I'd go that high if I were them. But 3 years/$27 million seems fair

The Chiefs are not in a good position to give Charles more money considering their current cap situation. Though they have more than $10M in both this year and 2015, of course they have both Alex Smith and Justin Houston as pending 2015 free agents that would likely chew up all of that. They already had to cut Brandon Flowers to get that room to begin with. If they pay Charles then it becomes likely that at least one of the two will walk, and they may also have to hasten the departure of Tamba Hali (who I think definitely won't be a Chief after this season).
