I had heard that he is the second-LOWEST paid DE, in the NFL. I really don't blame the guy...

Funny how perennial winners are into him but kFc doesn't want to have anything to do with the best corner on their team.

Not like they have anyone behind him they can trust.

Smith was just as bad if not worse and Cooper was hot trash.

I can see Pitt.

NE has Revis, Browner, Ryan, Arrington and Dennard at CB, they are hella deep.

Really wouldnt make much sense there.

Steelers if they can get the money for him would be a very good fit.

Haha it's clear you don't know anything about the Chiefs or how letting a player go after June 1st works.

The chiefs don't have a clue about the chiefs.

We know that the Chefs aren't a perennial winner.

Not to worry as soon as they get Smith signed to a franchise QB type contract they will just outscore every opponent. That must be the plan

If Smith can somehow lead the Chefs to 0.500 or better this year, I'll be impressed. They're sure putting a lot on his shoulders with no receivers and no O-line. Oh, and trading 8 backup QBs in a row for the NFC West...They're going to make him earn that overpaid contract they're about to give him.

My not so bold prediction is the cheifs sign Alice to to around 15 per year, Houston holds out another month, and the queers go 4-12 with 2 of their wins with Aaron Murray so that drafted qb win record stops and cheif fans think their is hope for next season but they don't make the playoffs again till 2032.

And yet, kFc will still have money counting against the cap for Flowers, Houston will still hold out, and Smith will still be waaaay overpaid.

I'm starting to wonder who is the more dysfunctional organization in the division, Raiders post-Al might have some competition...

- WHEN: Sunday, Sep. 14; 2:25 p.m. MDT.

- WHERE: Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

- TV: CBS.

- SERIES RECORD: Chiefs lead, 56-51 (Broncos lead 1-0 in the postseason).

- JOHN FOX'S RECORD: 7-1.

- PEYTON MANNING'S RECORD: 9-1 (2-0 in the postseason).

- SERIES STREAK: The Broncos have won 11 of their last 13 home games against the Chiefs since moving from Mile High Stadium in 2001.

- LAST TIME IN DENVER: Broncos 27, Chiefs 17; Nov. 17, 2013. The Chiefs roared into Denver as the last undefeated team in the league, but saw their bid for perfection end in a game that was flexed into prime time because of the teams' combined 17-1 record heading into the contest. Denver burst to a 10-0 lead, and from that point forward, the Chiefs never ran a play on which they could have taken the lead, although they narrowed the gap to three and seven points in the second quarter. Kansas City's defense forced three consecutive Broncos punts in the third quarter, but Denver's defense stiffened, maintaining a lead by forcing two three-and-outs and another possession that netted just one first down. That bought time for the offense to find its form, and when Montee Ball capped a 65-yard drive with an 8-yard touchdown run, the Broncos had breathing room and comfortably came home. The Broncos moved into a tie for first place in the AFC West with the win; two weeks later, they would break the deadlock with a win in the return match at Arrowhead Stadium.

NOTING THE GAME:

- Peyton Manning has never lost a home game to the Chiefs (7-0, including a wild-card playoff win on Jan. 6, 2007).

- In the series, no team has ever lost when its starting quarterback has a rating above 116.0. (Broncos 7-0; Chiefs 11-0.) Manning's 144.8 rating at home against the Chiefs in Week 17 of the 2012 season is the highest for a Denver passer in the series.

- Since the start of the 2010 calendar year, the Broncos have allowed 18 100-yard rushing games, and Kansas City's Jamaal Charles is responsible for three of them: on Jan. 3, 2010 (259 yards), Dec. 5, 2010 (116 yards) and Nov. 25, 2012 (107 yards). But since Dec. 23, 2012, the Broncos are one of just two teams to hold Charles below 100 yards from scrimmage -- and they have done it twice, limiting him to 67 and 72 yards in the two games Kansas City has played at Denver in that span. Since Week 16 of 2012, Charles has averaged 86.3 yards from scrimmage and 4.80 yards per touch against the Broncos, and 144.1 yards from scrimmage and 5.50 yards per touch against everyone else.

- Denver and Kansas City have split the season series eight of the last 11 years. In the other three, the Broncos swept the series, including each of the last two seasons.

- The Broncos and Chiefs haven't played a September game in Denver since 2006, a 9-6 Denver win in overtime. That marked the third consecutive year in which they played a September game in Denver. The Broncos are 7-2 all-time at home against the Chiefs in September, and 8-2 at home against the Chiefs before October, which includes the 19-3 win over the Chiefs on Aug. 31, 1997.

- With this being the Broncos' second home game of the regular season, the 2014 campaign will be just the second one since 1999 in which the Broncos began with back-to-back home games. They also opened with a two-game homestand in 2011, splitting against the Raiders and Bengals.

- John Fox-led teams went 0-4 in the regular season against Andy Reid-coached teams while the two men were in Carolina and Philadelphia, respectively, but Fox's side swept the series with their new teams in 2013. Fox also has a win in the most important game between the two coaches, a 14-3 NFC Championship triumph on Jan. 18, 2004. Current Broncos coaching intern Ricky Manning Jr. was the star of the Panthers' win, intercepting three passes to send Carolina to its only Super Bowl appearance.

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, it "sounds like" free agent CB Brandon Flowers will sign with a team by midweek.

La Canfora confirms Flowers has "plenty of suitors." He's still a starting-caliber corner in an off-coverage scheme, and just turned 28 in February. It will be interesting to see whether Flowers pursues longer-term offers, or if he's willing to "bet" on himself for one year, and re-test the market in 2015.

I would guess SD since thats been his only visit.

Hope not though.

Well fat boy couldn't do anything with DRC either so we will see what happens with Flowers on another team.

Not bad if his legs don't have any problems anymore. He can't play against the big possession receivers, so that delegates him to most likely a #3 CB.

Rumor is 3 years $10 million. That's a great deal if he can stay healthy. He's just nowhere near the amount of money that he was due from us this year.
