Is it any better than our other db's learning from Champ all these years? I think the effect is overstated.

John Fox's 40 time is going to be much better this year than last.

Champ didn't really do a lot of coaching from all I read. He mostly led by example.

If being great at playing the game made you a great coach, there would be a lot of ex-greats coaching.

I know a guy that is an excellent golf instructor (he has a 3 month waiting list) but on the course he's a 10 handicap.

In our CURRENT situation, I think "yes".

We're pretty solid at corner, but we have some safeties that could REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY benefit from what Woodson has seen and done at safety in the latter half-ish of his career.

There was a stat that showed he was burned for more long TDs than any DB in the NFL... or something like that. He made plays but he was not a great player.

Let me clarify. Woodson was a very good player but he was also very overrated. I remember he was on the 75th NFL Anniversary team and he was still playing. He was on there over the likes of Mel Blount, Herb Adderly, Dick Lane, Darrell Green and Mike Haynes. All I would consider better than Woodson.

In truth Woodsons presence just reinforces Johns moto, 'we don't pick complete players, we create complete players' to loosely quote what he said last off season. He's done a great job of bringing in guys who excelled at their position to mentor young players he brings on to the team. Charles' presence can be attributed to Johns commitment to developing Roby.

Where did I say he was going to be a great coach?
I said that they should be able to learn something from him.

Champ wasn't coaching or helping out coaching. He was playing and trying to help us win a SB. With that said, I am sure he was likely helping them out but a coach vs a player is a big difference.

So he is in the HOF. He is an overrated HOF player. Just like Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw and Joe Namath. You are stupid aren't you?

He was voted to the 75th Anniversary Team, Which means they thought he was one of the best two CBs in the first 75 years of the NFL.

Yes, My point is that he is overrated and that there were many other CBs in the NFL that were better than he was. He got a lot of hype in which his play did not necessarily back it up.
