6 games? Who comes up with this bull****. He should be gone at least a year.

Von smoked weed and he was gone 6 games. This guy drives drunk and was caught plastered on pills!

"or be active on social media"

ouch

I'm looking forward to a lot of incoherent tweets about Bob Marley, the Colts, and Vicodin from new twitter member "Yasri Mij"

Even that ****ty police department. Two misdemeanors? Briefcase full of pills? Something doesn't add up but I'm sure somebody got paid.

Probably with the $29,000 in cash he had on him at the time of his arrest.

I don't think it's a slap on the wrist myself. Why on earth should an NFL team lose draft picks because an owner got a DUI? His getting arrested had nothing to do with gaining a competitive advantage on the field or anything like that.

Losing draft picks for an owners DUI makes as much sense as forcing Andrew Luck to sit on the bench for 6 weeks because the owner failed a drug test.

DUI and a briefcase full of prescription drugs. If that was me or you driving that car we'd be upstate for awhile.

Taking a draft pick wouldn't make sense since he wasn't caught cheating or breaking some NFL rule. They need to change the rules so that owners can be fined more money though. Something like a $5 million dollar fine would be more appropriate.

What about going over the cap in a year where there was no cap?

Remember what Robert Kraft was fined for Spygate? 250 thousand dollars.

Cheating to win three Super Bowls = 250k fine

DUI = 500k fine

I think its fair enough.

Im with the crew who said to take picks away as well though, that or maybe make him play with a lesser cap # for next year.

How many of you were calling for forfeited draft picks, major fines, and a reduced cap when Broncos front office guys were getting busted for DUIs?

"But they're not the owners so it's ok for them to get liquored up and go tearing down the highway!"

OK, but you still didn't answer his question. Do you think the court of law gave him his NFL fine and suspension?

He got it from Goodell and if it was you or me, Goodell wouldn't be seeing us in a county courthouse.

I just hope we don't see Irsay anywhere near a La Quinta Inn in Denver or we have ourselves McManus for possibly the whole season.

They shouldn't take draft picks. I said kick him out for the rest of the year.

I guess he can become a hero for alcoholics and drug addicts.

I read a article somewhere that Goodell fined him 300 bucks and gave him a 10 minute suspension or something close to that. Maybe it was on John Stewart. Anybody hear of this.

He's the victim I guess? Yes, the victim of bad decision making. He's an admitted "recovering" alcoholic. He's a drug addict for ****sake!

This shows you that the nfl doesn't care. 6 weeks and some rehab, he's cured!

Goodell did not impose further punishment on the Colts because Goodell decided Irsay's actions did not have a "competitive consequence," according to a league statement.

USATODAY
Armour: Goodell must punish Irsay just as he does players

"I have stated on numerous occasions that owners, management personnel and coaches must be held to a higher standard than players," Goodell wrote in a letter to Irsay. "We discussed this during our meeting and you expressed your support for that view, volunteering that owners should be held to the highest standard."
Irsay was arrested in March after a traffic stop in Carmel, Ind. Toxicology reports showed Irsay had both hydrocodone and oxycodone in his system. He initially was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, but reached a deal to plead guilty to just one charge.
On Tuesday, he entered that plea and was sentenced to one year's probation and had his driver's license revoked for a year. As terms of his probation, he will be subject to monthly drug testing.
Goodell waited to impose his own punishment on Irsay until after Irsay's case was full adjudicated.
Irsay's full sentence includes 60 days to in the Hamilton County (Ind.) jail, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office. Fifty-eight days of his sentence were suspended, and Irsay was given two days of credit for the one day he served on March 17.
The court imposed costs of $168.50 and a $200 alcohol countermeasure fee, the release states. The court also recommended that Irsay's license be suspended for a period of 90 days.

Yeah I don't understand how punishing the team with picks would make sense. The organization didn't do anything wrong. And Irsay's indiscretions weren't football-related. I am quite disappointed we won't be seeing any bored Irsay tweets while he's out. That was going to be awesome.
