Would Teddy help us win a SB next year? No? Then, no.

Hypothetically speaking, if Bridgewater is there at 31, I'd proclaim to every other team in the NFL "the Broncos WILL listen to ANY and ALL REASONABLE TRADE OFFERS for the 31st pick."

So, trade back if possible. Some team who needs a QB will offer something decent for that pick.

Yeah, I don't see Brock being much in the NFL but I do not want to draft a QB question mark at 31. I think it's absurd

#31 is a good spot to trade into for a team looking jump Houston to take a QB. Cleveland, Jax, Tampa, and Minnesota could all be players in that game if they don't take QBs in the first.

absolutely, and if I'm Elway I don't gouge the team who wants to trade because I definitely don't want Bridgewater. I just want to trade back and get another pick or two.

In all seriousness, if Teddy was at 31 -- I'd hope the Vikings would deal us their #40 + their 3rd from Percy or another selection to move up and get him. Perhaps some other teams would be willing to do the same. I think he is going to be great, but I just don't see us being a team who would do that. Unless. . . they don't believe in Osweiler or Dysert.

First choice would be to find trade bait to take our 31st pick. I don't think Oz will ever see the field for any real playing time. Rookie contract is about up, no reason to pay him unless the front office has seem some very real QB of the future in him.

Let's be real here guys. Yes, I see Elway somehow getting another QB (and RB), but we need to be in win NOW mode. Peyton has what? 3 years left? Maybe...I'd much rather take my chances with Brock and Dysert for now and get a player that will make an impact this year or within the next 3.

So what kind of contract are we getting Brocko? I assume he won't see the field as a starter until he is an FA. Bang up job of the FO drafting a guy in the second that didn't do squat.

I'm glad Os has done nada. We either get more picks for #31 or we trade up and get a player that could help us get the Lombardi

To be fair, no one thought Manning would recover the way it is.

But would suck if they get nothing out of him.

Broncos offered him a cool 95 million or so -- I think they were fine with his medical evaluations and progress at the point of signing. I can see where you are coming from, but that was still a pretty "bad" decision if you ask me.

I think the Texans would make a phone call. I don't think they are taking a QB with their first pick. It's Mack for them, word is they are trying to move back so they can select Mack and get an extra pick. They can take that extra pick to move up and select Teddy.

33rd and a third round pick would be a great deal for the Broncos.

Brock was insurance and I doubt we let him get to FA. He will compete for the starting job once Manning retires.
Now if by some miracle Manning plays beyond his current contract, then you can make an argument about the Brock pick being a bad one.
But insurance is best when you never need it.

The contract was structured as a de facto year-to-year deal to mitigate the potential for the neck issue to get worse/irreparable. So it wasn't the run of the mill 95 million or so offer, but we already know that.

The Brock selection was made to mitigate the potential for the neck issue to get worse/irreparable.

We all know this and knew it when the contract details were made public and the draft pick was made.

I would have rather seen us trot out Elway in his 50s at QB as opposed to using a second rounder on a guy "living life to it's fullest."

Brock, to me, just seems like a guy that's happy to be there. i don't care who the starter is, when my back up joins the team eager to sit and learn, I'm not sure how motivated he really is/

Houston is a team I can see working back into the 1st. I can see them taking Mack and then trading up if Bridgewater or Carr are still available late in the 1st.

That is a little rough on the guy. Brock may not be what a lot wanted in the draft, but to say he just wants to sit and watch is far fetched. The opportunity to sit and learn from guys like Peyton and Elway is a dream scenario for a QB that is still very young. There are not many guys who would be disappointed to learn in that situation.

Why do so many of you guys still b**** about this selection? The team took a major risk signing Manning. At the time there was no guarantee he would he would heal enough to even attempt to play. Had that happened Elway made sure the team had an insurance option. He got a guy he felt had good talent that if he was needed he would be able to play but was also youn,g so that if Manning healed, sitting and learning wouldn't be an issue.

There was no way in hell he was willing to turn the team over to the pieces of **** we had on the roster the year prior. Can you imagine us having to rely on Orton, Quinn or Tebow another year had Manning not healed?

Those of you b****ing about the pick would be sucking Elway and Brock's ***** had Manning not been able to play.

To me it's an obvious corner back pick. Biggest hole on the roster.
