Default Football Things That Piss Me Off!

I could have put this in the other thread but I didn't want it to get lost in all the general gripes!

The current Commissioner!

The modern nfl rules that have almost destroyed my favorite sport.
I'm speaking about "judgement calls".

The sports media who are "informed ,competent, and impartial" according to the Downtown Athletic club(Heisman) and apparently the NFL HOF selection committee.

The reason I brought this up, someone posted in another thread that Ndamakung Suh should have won the Heisman his senior year at Ne.
Maybe he should have. Hugh Green damn sure should have won it in 82.

The only (primarily) defensive player to win the Heisman was Charles Woodson
from Mi. He was also a WR and Kr. He beat out Peyton Manning from UTN.
Go figure! A travesty in my opinion. Woodson wasn't even the best defensive player that year.

As for the HOF voters. I'd bet the HOF and Heisman voters are the same people.
Impartial my ass!

My rant's over.

Addendum to my previous rant. (I was pissed and forgot these.)

Nfl bye weeks in their current format are total BS.
Completely unfair to teams who have early and late bye's.
Bye's should be 1/2 the teams in week 8 and the other half in week 9.
That's still 16 games for the league and tv networks to cash in on.

Thursday night football!!!!!!

I agree Manning was robbed.........

1997

The Winner: Charles Woodson, CB, Michigan

The Robbed: Peyton Manning, QB, Tennessee

Woodson was an extremely versatile player who also saw time as a receiver on offense and as a dangerous punt returner on special teams. As a CB he finished the season with eight interceptions.

Manning passed for 3,819 yards (523 against Kentucky) and 37 TDs, along with completing over 60 percent of his passes. Come on sports fans! Woodson was the media darling—Manning was the real Heisman winner! This one was a joke.

Jon Fox and his quickly making peace with that disaster we saw in February. I don't believe he gives our excellent team an edge in the coaching dept, and that pisses me off.

I agree it stings but this year it was predetermined by a formula.

Denver plays the entire AFC East every three years so home/road rotates.

2005 (Denver), 2008 (Foxboro), 2011 (Denver), 2014 (Foxboro).

NFL players that sue the league for injury claims as if they had no idea that football had any risk on long term health.

Post #9 provides incomplete information.

Since 2001 (the year the Patriots became relevant in the NFL), we've played them (in regular season) almost every year, missing only 2004, 2007 and 2010.

October 28, 2001 - in Denver
October 27, 2002 - in New England
November 3, 2003 - in Denver
October 16, 2005 - in Denver
September 24, 2006 - in New England
October 20, 2008 - in New England
October 11, 2009 - in Denver
December 18, 2011 - in Denver
October 7, 2012 - in New England
November 24, 2013 - in New England
*November 2, 2014 - in New England

Bronc0guy makes a valid point that the NFL schedule-makers have placed us playing them on their home field in 3 consecutive seasons.

The way it's done is pretty formulaic. This year is because of the normal 3-year divisional rotation (we play the AFC East)

The last time that rotation came around, they played in Denver (in 2011) so it makes sense. There's another rotation for the 'seeded' matchups against other divisional leaders from last year. Someone posted what it was once. I don't remember exactly what it is.

But it's all pretty well predetermined and set in stone who plays who where. That's why the ticket office can tell you pretty much as soon as the season is over who we're going to play (and where) the next season. The only question is when.

It sucks getting them at home 3 years in a row. But it's just unfortunate timing.
