I would recommend a Labrador Retriever. We have a labbull. A lab mix with pitbull. Great dog! I don't have kids yet but with my niece he's adorable.

I'll be damned. There are actually several sites on this.
You really can find anything on google.
I honestly put it in the search as a joke.

I question that list...I've never seen a single list for best family dog or best dog with children that didn't include a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and most include the Boston. However, with going through the original requirements, neither are big dogs and the CKCS sheds like none other.

Most of the lists I have seen have about the same rankings. Never seen a CKCS in them.

I have a lab pit-bull mix she is awesome, kids can ride her like a horse. She was cute as a pup but has grown up to be the perfect junk yard dog, she is black with brindle and 65 pounds of solid muscle but gentle as a lamb. She just lies around on the garage floor and people that don't know will drive up to my house, roll down the window and ask if it's ok to get out of the car. I wouldn't trade her for any fancy breed dog. Cute as a pup but pretty butt ugly now.
