He has great instincts and is strong at reading and diagnosing the play. He has ideal size and solid speed. I think because he was used off the edge, too much focus is on him being a pass rusher only. Really he's not built to be a DE, and doesn't posess the moves necessary to be a dynamite edge rusher. He just used speed, instincts, and a bull rush more often than not to get after the QB. But I think that is perfect for blitzes through the A gap.

I think it would be a transition for him, and it may not work. But I love his versatility that I could see him making that transition.
Van Noy is really a strange player because he's a real good athlete, but its really hard to say what his best pro position would be. He's instinctual, strong, a good pass rusher, can cover, but then I hear some teams would stick him at DE? I just don't get why that would ever be an option for him.

As you said, he seems like a Sam in our system, but it wouldn't shock me if he could handle the middle. Regardless, he's a football player. I can't see him being a bust.

He's a SOLB or ILB, but what makes him unique is his ability to drop into coverage. He's very fluid and sound in coverage. He's someone who can stay on the field all three downs. He weighs in the 240's, ran a 4.6 ish 40, and has incredible instincts.

He makes plays all over the field. MUG initially thought he could transition and play MLB. I was very hesitant at first, but when you watch the tape, BYU ran a lot of subpackage defensive snaps with Van Noy playing in coverage, blitzing, playing the run. He just has such a versatile skill set.

I think that KVN would be perfect SOLB, and that is his ideal fit in the NFL. He might be able to handle inside, but don't think thats what fits his skills the best. With Pot Roast and Vick in on running downs, he might be able to play in the middle on base defense, since they will keep the OL off him for the most part, and he would be ideal for the nickle on the SLB with D Trav as WLB. He could also be a replacement for Von if the Broncos decide he isn't worth the risk at 12-15 million a year, which he could end up asking for.

Yeah he has versatility, and we could keep the same scheme and plug him right into SOLB. But I don't think Shazier or Mosley are there @31, and if we can add a player like Van Noy in the second, I think you do it.

I'd probably take Van Noy at 31. Can't see him being a bad player. Great skill set. Always room for guys like that

Yeah, I don't think he'll drop to late 2nd. I don't think it would be a bad pick in the first, assuming they have a plan to use him right.

We had mild interest in him. And I do not believe we brought him in for a visit nor engaged in serious contract discussion.
I remember Ward, Byrd and potentially bringing Adams back.

You mean like in real life, where pick 31 would likely only net you a second and fourth rounder. Kind of like what we did two years ago.

Broncos can play a smaller player at MLB if Big Vick and Pot Roast are in the lineup. Throw in the Ware a good sized player, Wolfe a good sized Dend and the Broncos could have a big front 4 that allows a smaller MLB.

Plus he has experience at both WR and RB. If he can play ST. It would make replacing Hillman easier because Hillman doesn't play ST.

1. X Sua Filo (Keep Franklin at OT and have a nasty OL)
2. Kyle Van Noy LB (May need to move up in 2nd, but versatile, can cover, and does everything well)
3. Stanley Jean-Baptiste (Don't know much about him, but think the Broncos are going to be a physical defense, and will draft a bigger CB, thy might have a wild card like last year with Webster in mind though)
4. WR. (I don't know who, but should be able to find a WR with a lot of potential here as the draft is so deep)
5. Daniel Sorenson (Great ST player and good safety depth, just what you want in a 5th rounder)
6-7. Don't care after that. Hopefully they find a steal here. Possible RB and TE as far as position goes.

Guys I think we are evaluating the current day defense incorrectly. LB's are the worst on coverage situations. I think the premiums should be paid to those DL's that can either get to the QB's and DB's that can cover in zone and man. LB's should only be considered if they have good blitz or pass rush capabilities.

That's my 2 cents on how we should draft.

Killers got us nabbin Yankee in the 2nd..... Not that that means anything.

Personally I think it's a pipedream that Shazier falls to us in 1 and Yankee falls that far in the 2nd.
