Does Peyton have a kid in this draft? I'd trade up for him

Because Elway didn't trade a #1 pick for a current 2nd to take a bust.
McDaniels was horrible. He did not develop a single player. The development of those drafted players came after he was long gone.

Lol, im hardly a mcdaniels fan, but its not like he had much time to do these things either.

Him using Demaryius as a kick returner was one of the dumber decisions in the history of the NFL though.

Right up there with the Ryan Clady left tackle screen play.

Was anybody surprised by any of the moves McClueless made after the failed attempt to get Matt Fuggin Cassel!?

I'm glad it was the Cheaps and not the Broncos who paid that turd all that money.

He wanted Alphonso Smith soooo bad that he traded up for him only to trade him for a practice squad player (TE-Gronkowski) from the Lions one year later- one year!!!

Bottom line- if you are prepared to trade up for a player A) make sure he's the real deal and B) Invest enough time to properly develop said player.

McD failed on both.

I forgot about that. Didn't he get concussed or hurt his knee on a return as well?

eh, that was a wrinkle that went poorly. Demaryius as a KR was irresponsible

I was at that game, and it happened right in front of me.

DT got knocked out into Russell Street with that hit, and it sounded like he got smacked by a 2x4.

Actually, against the Seasquawks not long before that, he did pretty well at KR.

Went to the well too often obviously.

Too big of a target for returns.

I forget, was this before or after DT ruptured his Achilles?

I'm almost positive the Achilles came later.

DT was drafted injured and had a lot of injury troubles before breaking out in 2011.

Yeah, you're right he had that broken foot coming out of college, then a bunch of smaller stuff (including that concussion) and then tore his achilles. I forget how many lumps he took early in his career.

You can't develop players in less that 2 seasons.

It's not that McDaniels didn't draft Thomas, its that he traded a first round pick for a scrub CB that was worthless. Don't trade a first next year for a second. He mortgaged the future for something he wanted then (even though I think he admitted he didn't have much time to even prepare for the draft that first year). McDaniels wouldn't have drafted Thomas anyway, and would have wasted that pick too, most likely, so the point is moot.

And Von Miller. I'm glad where the Broncos are now, and hope they learned from McD's mistakes. So far so good. Still hate McDaniels though.

I don't mind a trade up as long as it's in later rounds and you're not giving up the world. Hate the idea of moving up in the 1st or 2nd but I down with moving up in rounds 3-5 if you like somebody.

Bull. Von,Franklin,Carter,Wolfe,Ball were all instant starters or high impact players.
His most impactful guy was Knowshon as a rookie.

That's quite a bit biased.

Von - Franklin - instant starters

Carter, Wolfe, Ball were not.

Wolfe was rotational.

Carter has been irrelevant for the past 2 years. This is a real stretch of even mentioning him.

I'll reword what I said - it's quite difficult to develop players in LESS than 2 years. That's pretty much 1 draft class to develop - And Moreno and Ayers were starters in their most of their rookie seasons...
